freezing cookie dough?

anoriginal

I know it can be done successfully. Last year made doughs for 3-4 different cookies over T-Day weekend, froze in blobs and then scooped & baked at my leisure. In a perfect world, I would have room to scoop onto baking sheet, individually freeze, and put in container... so I could bake 5-6 chocolate chips whenever I wanted them. Only time I had that kiind of room in freezer (for tray) was when it was just delivered and EMPTY! Have rolled chocolate chips, peanut butter, and oatmeal cookies into "logs", wrapped well and froze. Have later cut off round and baked from frozen... maybe adding a minute or so to baking time.

Making coconut macaroons today... recently "found" coconut that HAS to be used. Simple recipe... just shredded coconut, sweetened/condensed milk, beaten egg whites folded in. Plan to use up ALL of the coconut... probably a double recipe.

Do you think uncooked macaroons will freeze well? Any experience.with this?
