Hi I have been looking for sweet potato variety "all gold"everywhere and can't seem to find it. Anybody here want to trade for some slips of this one? Thanks

I usually either save a sweet potato I grew or buy some nice looking sweet potatoes at the grocery store. They are easy to start slips from. I usually put the sweet potato in a glass that is filled with water about 2 inches up the sweet potato. Within a few weeks, roots will start forming on the bottom of the sweet potato. Then, in another few weeks, sprouts start forming on the potato. Once these sprouts are about 4 inches tall, I slip (hence called slips) these from the potato and put them in another jar with water and they root quickly. I started some sweet potatoes for slips, the end of January. I now have several rooted sweet potato slips. I usually plant these rooted slips the first of May/June. It will take awhile to get enough slips to plant. I always have very good luck growing sweet potatoes.When I plant these slips, I dig a small hole, put water in it, add the slip and water again. I then put newspaper on the ground and add mulch about 4 inches deep. I do not have to water them again or weed them. I just forget about them until Sept/Oct. My plants usually get HUGE. It takes 3 months for the sweet potatoes to get big enough to pick. You can order sweet potato slips from a place in Tennessee. I cannot remember the name. Just type in sweet potato plants and several sights will be pulled up. It will give you an idea or the different types of sweet potatoes and you could order some.
