I got fire ant bites with shoes on, and with shoes off, no difference... while I was residing in Florida.

Not here because of the fire ants. I used to.

I do, then I remember almost stepping on a copperhead, go back in and grab shoes!

Until the past few years I only wore shoes when I had to. My poor feet have paid the price!

No little critters here to worry about, the worst thing to encounter on grass might be a piece of glass or a deposit from a dog or cat. But the barefoot days of youth are past for me.

I never knew of the existence of fire ants until once when in Texas during my military days, sitting on a lawn, I must have put my hand down in the wrong place. Yowww, what pain!

I often go barefoot outdoors during the summer when I am at home, as long as I am on the deck or on the lawn. No snakes or biting ants, etc.

I do but usually slip on crocs or flip flops in barefoot weather. My feet seem to be a lot more sensitive these days, stepping on a twig really hurts.

No, Never only on my carpet. I had plantar faciitis and its not good to go barefoot at anytime. I also broke 2 toes without shoes on.

Today I can't stand being barefoot anywhere other than the beach or the pool. I even step straight out of the shower into flipflops.

I wear UGG type boots as house slippers in the winter and flipflops all summer. I can't stand going around barefoot or even in socks. I want that extra little layer of cushion under my feet. I avoid visiting unbending "no shoes" households.

i'm barefoot almost all day...except going on the tile floor, and will run out there if I hear the dryer...we have half carpet in the downstairs bathroom and thows on the tile around the wc and shower...

Not since I was a kid. I don't even go barefoot in the house....slip on a pair of Crocs. When I was a kid, I liked going barefoot, and some kids even went barefoot to school. My mother would have never allowed that, or to go to the store or any place barefoot. My feet got so tough though, because we had oyster shell roads, and that didn't even hurt my feet, except when they put down fresh shell every so often.

We live in the woods and our immediate yard is gravel. Beyond that it's trees, pine needles, twigs, rocks, ants and the occasional snake. We do have a deck around three sides of the house but there is the potential for splinters so no going outside barefoot for me.

In the house, I wear wool socks in the winter and light anklets in the summer. Guess I'm not much of a barefoot person!

Only inside, my feet are too tender, (besides it's winter in Colorado so no one does now.)

I do in my grass, and on my driveway and sidewalk usually indoors too. My feet get hot in shoes.

I'm surprised how many state they go barefoot; in the past when this question has come up, the replies generally ran much more toward the negative. I only put shoes on if I am going somewhere where I have to. Indoors, gardening, walking around the neighborhood, etc. is almost always shoeless.

I'm usually barefoot in the house. I'm in a condo so it's only a few steps out through my patio to my trash cans. I'll run out to throw a bag out or lock my car. I keep telling myself one night I'm gonna walk out there and step on something with my bare feet and be sorry. If I go to a family members house I'll take off my shoes and wear my socks unless I have flip flops on then I'll just go barefoot.

I usually wear shoes outside, sometimes in a hurry I will walk on the concrete or brick barefoot to grab the cat, or take out the trash. Inside I am always barefoot. I enjoy the feeling of the tile on my feet. I don't walk on the lawn barefoot as we live on a lake with woods and there are poisonous snakes and spiders around.

I don't wear shoes inside my house. Typically in the summer I am barefoot when outside unless I'm in the garden.

When we lived in Alaska, everyone took their shoes off when going in anyone's house. I was amazed at how much cleaner the floors stayed when dirt from shoes didn't get tracked into the house.

Barefoot most of the time, but not in the grass. There are bumble bees on the clover and crickets in there LOLOL! On the pavement for sure. Even in the winter. I have been known to run to the mailbox at the end of the property barefoot....IN THE SNOW! I come from a long line of barefoot snow walkers ;)
