pull-down vs. pull-out faucet
Comments (46)Do you have a friend who has a pull-down that you might be able to try? Will that sprayer stay on spray or do you have to keep the handle pressed down? I always had a side spray before but now that I have a pull-down I don't ever want to be without one! I defrosted some shrimp tonight and it was so nice to be able to pull the faucet head down close to my colander, set it to spray and walk away for a few minutes. The pull-down is nicely balanced so that it stays at whatever height I put it. It's so much more convenient to quickly pull it down and be able to reach every corner of my sink when I wash it. Mine goes back up into place very easily and securely, no twisting or fiddling with it required....See MoreHelp needed please -- to pull out or not to pull out?
Comments (7)LWO - I'm reading into your statement, but are you saying that Grohe is a crappy quality faucet? Correct me if I'm wrong. We've had a Grohe LadyLux Plus faucet for years without any problems. It doesn't have to be reset from spray when you turn it off. We love it. When we go to my sil's new house, I can see that that is one place she skimped. Her faucet is a piece of crap. Our Grohe has held up with heavy use and when we remodel we will use the same faucet and add another Grohe to our prep sink. However, if I loved the Kohler Karbon as much as you seem to, I'd try to swing that one if at all possible. I think it's a really cool faucet but I just couldn't justify the cost for *me.* Oh, and I wouldn't go with the cheap screw-on spray attachment....See MoreDid you pick a pull down faucet or a side pull out ?
Comments (24)I have the Grohe Lady Lux which is a pull out and find it excellent to use (and I do use it with either hand depending what I'm doing with the other hand). We considered the Grohe Lady Lux Cafe for our prep sink which is a pull down and has a very comfortable feel, but it doesn't have a stay on button for the spray - you have to hold the button down to keep spraying. I like to be able to put the faucet in spray mode and use both hands to wash produce under it. So we used the LadyLux Plus for both sinks. The Grohe faucet uses a spring rather than a weight to pull the hose back in. It goes back in very nicely. I hate side sprays. The ones I've had in the past have developed problems and leaks over time and I don't like the clutter....See MoreHigher quality pull-out kitchen faucet recs?
Comments (9)Yes, it needs to be single hole. Not wanting to drill new holes in the granite, nor do I want to lock myself in to a relatively uncommon 2-hole design. And I've learned that the other half is more or less hard over on a top mounted control lever. She says that side mounted is harder to get to with dirty hands. So that will limit our options quite a bit....See Morehomepro01
