Tiny Bathroom Bianco Carrara porcelain tile
Comments (20)crl, Thank you! I debated about the sizes of the tile as well as the color. In such a small room, I didn't want anything too "busy". I just wanted a simple, clean look. Hunzi, Love your newly created word, "marblelain". Our house is old, too. It was built in 1910, but it doesn't have a fourth bedroom to borrow to make a larger bathroom. You are lucky ;-) Post pictures when you redo your bathroom! enduring, Thanks! I loved the paint color enough to keep it, and I think it works with the new tile and the chrome accents. A picture on the wall between the vanity and shower is a good idea. I had a towel bar there, but this time I'm just going to use the one on the shower door and the extra one I have on the inside of the door of the bathroom. I simply can't imagine TWO doors coming into a room this small. So glad you were able to expand. Lotteryticket, Thank you! I like the dark/light contrast, too. The vanity and toilet were in too good of a condition to get rid of. I saved money by keeping them. prbetsi75, I love the niche. It is so handy. Our other bathroom has the 3x6 classic white subway wall tiles as well as 2" hex floor tiles. It is so hard to keep the grout clean!!! Our contractor used a product called Procolor Stain Guard ADMIX for this tile installation. It is supposed to merge with the grout all the way through. This keeps stains, mold, and mildew from getting into the grout and makes cleaning much easier. We shall see. Here is a picture looking down into the shower:...See MoreWhat white paint for a vanity in a carrara bathroom?
Comments (5)I think you need to look at a sample of your tile, and some paint chips, in your bathroom's lighting. I have Carrara in my kitchen and I can tell you that you really need to choose the white based on your particular slab or tile lot... you'll probably want a cool white, not a creamy one, if it's a typical carrara with grey veining and a cool cast. I also wanted to comment on your plans. Have you finalized any of those things you have "?" on? It looks like it's going to be gorgeous... but I had these thoughts: 1) Don't have the shower door swing that way if the bathroom door is hinged on the shower side. If those doors happen to be open at the same time and collide, you'll shatter the shower door (assuming it's frameless glass.) 2) Can you do a pocket door for the entry? My master bath door is in the middle of the wall, like yours. It is hinged on the right, and opens almost 180 degrees, like yours would if you hung it that way. It's "OK" but I really wish I'd done a pocket door instead....See MoreSliding glass shower door vs curtain for 96 x 51 bathroom
Comments (5)You can counteract the dark color of walls and floor with a light brightly colored fabric shower curtain. Buy something pretty and install a tie-back on one side so when dry it can be swept back and provide that open look. It will give the bathroom that sense of "finish" for when prospective tenants come to view your rental. The last thing you want to do down the road is try to restore glass doors that haven't been properly maintained....See MorePaint for a Carrarra Marble Bathroom?
Comments (17)Beautiful colors, everyone! Annie and Tibrux: I love it! Vintage Charm is the darker color I take it for the barrel. And I just love that Violet Pearl for the walls, Annie. Thanks! So should I paint the rest of the ceiling white or paint it the Violet Pearl, too? Just wondering. pps7 that Artic grey is really nice, too. So in order to move down the hall into the Master I probably should pick out a more greyish blue for that area. So I could consider that BM Silver Chain. I need to do some more work on fabrics in the main bedroom before I go to much farther in wall paint, though. Everything is in the mess stage right now with foam insulation just being completed and they are geting ready to put all the wallboard in. I will definitely be posting pictures of the progress.....either here or in the building section .and will be looking for more suggestions for finalizing our decor in there and some of my other rooms....See Moreamanda99999
