Yes. I think if I were you, I'd try to at least find an egg knob, rather than the round one, to be the partner for just this door.

There is a wonderful hardware store in the Chestnut Hill section of Philadelphia that has the best selection of cremone bolts I've seen. This hardware is very expensive though. If I remember right, they were about $300 a piece when we installed them on our french doors for the master closet and bath about ten years ago. I agree with Sophie. Can you use this as bedroom doors or a door into something like a laundry room door? It also appears the door has been painted. Are you going to have the doors stripped of all the paint? I wonder if it was lead paint?

Patricia, they are a security feature, not supposed to be just for looks, the bottom end slides into a small round hole in the floor. At one time, I guess, all 3 of my doors had them, but, throughout the years, 2 doors were replaced, and those were not added in. There is new flooring and thresholds down now, but, I did see the small round holes when we took up old flooring. The old back door was out in the shed, and it had one of those things, still attached to it.
