Bridge mode on induction cooktops -- how good? (esp. Bosch 30" range)

On the verge of selecting a 30" induction range to replace an old electric smoothtop. One question I have is how well the "bridge" features typically work when used with something like a large griddle? The Wolf induction range officially has a bridge feature. The Bosch does not. But supposedly the Bosch will nevertheless work if you just span a large griddle across two burners.

Do these bridge features actually evenly heat the entire griddle? Or do you basically have two hot spots where the burners are, and the rest of the griddle is cold?

Basically trying to decide whether a bridge feature is actually worthwhile, or if it is more of a gimmick. And, if it is worthwhile, if the fact that the Bosch does not have an official bridge feature is a good enough reason to axe it from my list, or if it still works well with a griddle spanning two burners.

Thanks!
