From my own investigation regarding this subject, Marilyn...the answer is "no". My search results told me that laptop batteries...as well as batteries for phones, etc...are brand and model specific. Personally...if the batteries are the same # and size...I wonder why it's not a good idea to switch them but I followed the advice I found...just to be on the safe side...and I'm glad I did.

No but you can order a replacement battery for it. Just Google the information on the battery . EBay has lots of sellers . You can always just pull out the battery and use it plugged in which I do a lot .

Can you put a Ford engine into a Chevy? Sure, but the size, the connections and the management is going to take a lot of effort to get it to work. Cheaper and easier to put a Chevy engine into a Chevy. Same with batteries.

For both PCs and phones, there are aftermarket batteries for some models that may fit and work. They don't tend to be of the same quality as an OEM part and frequently have less storage capacity (fewer mAh). You have to be careful when you order an extra battery from a third party seller, sometimes there's an obvious reason why what you're looking at is cheaper than what the manufacturer sells.
