Rug advice please
Comments (1)Have the same issue with a rug that never stopped shedding (but it wasn’t that expensive). We’ve also been trying to figure out what kind of rug won’t shed but will still be soft enough since the kids play on the rug. I keep reading that you aren’t supposed to use the beater on your vacuum to reduce shedding...See MoreRug advice wanted
Comments (7)I love those chairs! Please give us a floor plan with measurements so we can help. Also please include pictures of each wall. Thank you. I did a very quick search, but couldn't find a rug with your specifications. I'm sure a more thorough search will get you what you want. Ceiling lights are not the best for the seated area. I prefer a table lamp or wall sconce in each corner at chest height. Please see if those ceilings lights can be put on a dimmer. The bar area could benefit from better lighting as well, but another reader will need to help you with that....See MoreNeed rug advice and opinions
Comments (16)Thanks, Jinx! I have tried moving the chair but it just doesn’t look right because of the placement of the front windows and front door. If I put the chair on the side to face the tv, it leaves a weird open/unused space by the windows. I have a huge front porch that cuts out about 1/4 of the room. What we usually end up doing is moving the chair back and forth as needed. It’s kind of a pain but I don’t have to move it often. I’m not a fan of the oddly shaped room but the front porch is worth it! So, here are some fun details about my house. It is exactly 100 years old this year! I bought it four years ago from a residential contractor who gutted it to the studs. Everything in the house is new: drywall, windows, doors, trim, plumbing, electrical, furnace etc. But, he left the original hardwood floors throughout the entire house. They are perfectly imperfect and absolutely gorgeous. There has never been carpet in this house because there isn’t a single tack mark anywhere. It’s crazy considering how old the house is. The best part: the house was infested with rats when he bought it. Like, dead rats in the furnace infested. He bought it for next to nothing and he and his wife took about a year to completely renovate it. I met them at my closing and we are now really good friends with them. I got an amazing house and an amazing friendship out of it....See MoreRug Advice Needed
Comments (4)I think the dark coffee table is nice. You need some contrast in there - currently a bit monotone. I would also look for a rug with at least a little bit of color and if it’s high traffic, probably not really light....See MoreRelated Professionals
