Which FL washer & dryer should my wife and I go with???
Comments (28)JBmomto3 said:: Sorry to hear you had so many problems with your LG's. I've had mine for 3 years now and love them. I really put them through the paces too using them every day and at least 3 loads at that. I have the warranty through Best Buy and they've been great the couple times we needed to call on them (minor lint trap issues). That said, if I had to purchase a FL set again I would be very tempted by the Bosch machines having a Bosch dishwasher and being very pleased with it. ------------------------------------------------------ We bought the LG set a few months ago and love them. If we had to buy based on our experience with a Bosch dishwasher a few years ago, we'd definitely buy the LG. Just a note, the Bosch dishwashers don't use a "food grinder" as other US made d/w use. They're not allowed to put food waste down the drain "over there". Our Bosch dishwasher was a nightmare with their "water heater". The service man didn't know what he was doing, and first replaced the control board (under warranty) and pointed out to me the "burned component". I didn't see what he was talking about (I'm an electronic technician). After he left, the dishwasher did the same thing. A few weeks later (now out of warranty) they sent a different repaiman and he had to disassemble the whole dishwasher to get to the water heater. After many calls to Bosch, they covered it, but after many other problems we got rid of it and bought a Sears (Kitchenaid model) and has been working fine ever since. There's a web site with LG service manuals. I had a minor fix to the drum on our LG dryer which we bought scratch & dent. Easy to service....See MoreFrigidaire Gallery F/L Washer/Dryer
Comments (9)Peter, I also have an LG combo, and my experience with service so far has been better than the service for my Whirlpool dishwasher. Getting an LG technician was easy, and the problem was taken care of right away. They even called me a few days before the scheduled visit to let me know they had a cancellation and could see me sooner if I was available. I did read your nightmare before I purchased the machine, and decided to take a chance anyway since I had to have a combo unit. I hope maybe LG service has improved a bunch since you had yours...or perhaps it's my location. I wouldn't rule them out unless you know you can't get service in your area. Comments (12)Greetings! Today we took delivery of a Frigidaire Affinity 6000, replacing the Kenmore front loader that died after only 6 years (broken shaft). We've run 4 loads through it - everything seems to be okay. I can't hear when it's done - basement laundry. I want to turn the signal volume up to the max but can't figure out how to do it. I've scoured the manuals - print and online - but there aren't directions on how to adjust the signal volume, only that it can be done....See MoreQuestions for Frigidaire front loader owners (Affinity, 2140)
Comments (4)There is a former Electrolux engineer that posts at a different site. He says that the Affinity series is one of the best enginered front loaders that Electrolux has produced. It is based on the Wascomat commercial frontloader, which is a highly reliable machine. So it is basically a commercial grade machine with more features and prettier styling. He was so impressed he bought one for his home. I have the 7000, which is the same as the 8000 except for a non chrome door bezel and only white color available. I am not sure how many rinses it does in a normal cycle. I do use the extra rinse feature on some loads. If you contact me privately I can tell you the forum where the engineer posts if you would like it....See MoreMiMi
