Don´t any of your trees have thrips?
Comments (4)As you are in a citrus-growing area of Spain, you can expect to have CLM. For small ornamental trees it is possible to spray against leaf miners. The larva only attack soft new growth, but live within the leaf tissue so you need a systemic insecticide that is recommended for leaf miners. You should enquire locally at a good nursery or citrus specialist to find what is available. You will need to spray every year to prevent re-infection. I would trim off the affected growth and destroy it if the larvae are still present. Here in England, I had this problem four years ago and managed to eliminate it completely. See web page link. But of-course it's much easier on potted plants where there is no local source of these pests. Here is a link that might be useful: Citrus Leaf Miners in UK....See MoreTurn your cut down tree into a fire pit!
Comments (7)Ummmmm ... that's awesomely cool until the smoldering lower part invades the spreading root system. Then you have underground fires all over the yard, breaking into flame wherever the roots near the surface. How do I know this? One of my tenants decided to deal with a big old stump by having a weekend BBQ with it as the fire pit. A week or so later, his dog was barking wildly at 2Am ... looked out the window and there were flames coming up out of the back yard in several spots....See MoreCrazy snail made his way all the way up an Angel Face tree rose!!!
Comments (14)Awwww thanks everyone. I have metal addiction for sure. Lol. My very first arbors came from Smith and Hawken right before they went out of business so I gobbled up 4 arbors and lots of window boxes since they were marked down sooooo much. All my others came from Hobby Lobby and antique stores. My nieces friend was selling her gazebo so she snatched it up for me. My Angel face isn't really that huge but did bloom out perfectly all at one time. It was a barefoot from HD. I know all about snail eating hosta. I need to get some sluggi bc they are devouring my hosta right now. Soooo irritating!!! Thanks again y'all!!!...See MoreCycas palm tree suddenly fell down? Any explanation???
Comments (10)Of all the questions regarding plant care, location is probably less important when discussing a problem with a specific plant than it is with other growing issues. Especially when a photo is provided that clearly shows what's going on. Jean is correct - the plant is lacking a sufficient root system to support it. Cycad roots do not look a lot like many other plants, even palms, but there are none obviously showing in the photo. No roots = unstable plant and eventual decline, if not death. The question is why there are no roots. And I don't have an answer for that. It could be as rhizo suggested; it could also be due to root rot....See Moremyermike_1micha
