I have a missmatched mush in every bedroom. Lots of side tables, basic oak turned leg tables that are by the guest beds. My our bed we have one victorian nightstand (it's actually for the potty bucket heh heh) and I'd agree it's a bit small, but the space is as well so I'm learning to be creative. on the other side of the bed we have a small plant stand of the same height that DH throws a book on and then we have a larger table near that. I have a dressing table for one...gad all kinds of odd things, but the thing they have in common is height and weight.

Kevin, that type of lamp and the colors in it look great in your room. This is some advice I was given previously regarding bedside lamps: When you are sitting in bed, the bottom of the shade should be just above your shoulder to create the perfect reading light. You probably already know this, but I am editing to post additional information I was given: Shade height should be about 3/4 the height of the base. Reading lamps need a wider shade to provide plenty of light. Be sure you have 2-3 inch separation from bulb to shade, especially for higher wattage bulbs. Be sure the top opening is wide enough to vent the heat. Compact Fluorescent bulbs are great for most lamps because they burn cooler, but you may need larger harp since CFL's are taller than standard light bulbs. The best way to determine the bottom diameter of the shade for your table lamp is to measure the lamp height from the bottom edge of the table lamp base to the top of the lamp stem, (just below the socket cap) The shade you choose for your lamp should have a bottom diameter that is within 2âÂÂ, plus or minus, the measured height of your lamp. For example if your lamp height (measured from the bottom of the lamp to just below the socket) is 14â tall, the shade you select (depending on your preference for a small, medium, or larger looking shade) should have a bottom diameter of 12âÂÂ, 13âÂÂ, 14âÂÂ, 15â or 16âÂÂ. OMG - what a goofball I am. I have been working so many hours and am so short on sleep - sorry I didn't include the link for the lamp. It would center over the bed, so the art would move. It is a bit on the modern side, but I think might be very cool in your space: giclee retro lamp You can see that they have the shade for sale alone, as well as other styles of the lamp with the shade at the bottom of the page. I like how it picks up your colors, including the taupe/beige squares that echo your bedding and window treatments. Do look at their selection of lamps. Many have free shipping, and they have tons of plug-in wall lamps that don't have to be hardwired to work. Seeing your floor plan, I would be inclined to flip the bed to the opposite wall, and let the dresser be on the wall by the closets. Seems like you could put the dresser a bit to the left on that wall, and still fit in a nice chair in the corner near the window. Thanks for moving the pillow! LOL
