Unfortunately, I never really get any good deals at the grocery store. We have one grocery store in town. The next grocery store is the same chain and is about 15 miles away. I'm always amazed at the good deals I see people find. For us, even with things like clothing and appliances, we don't find good deals. We're not going to go 50 miles away and spend all day shopping around looking for a deal. we just do the best we can trying to find a decent sale for the things we need. yes, I'm jealous! :)

Good finds, Sue--the egg price is amazing! I had a good shopping day too. I went first to Salvation Army with some things in mind that I needed. One was a mid-calf black skirt, fitted at the top and swirly at the bottom--and I found the exact skirt I'd envisioned!

I also wanted a couple of men's long-sleeved t-shirts and a soft fleece garment that I could cut up. My purpose was to make sleep tops with fleece sewn onto the shoulders. My shoulder injury acts up when the tops of my shoulders get cold--which often happens at night in my unheated bedroom. I'm hoping the fleece will act as a blanket for them. Anyway, I found two Jos. A. Bank shirts, very soft, and a lovely plush fleece top that I can cut up. Everything was 1/2 price, so the total tab was $10.

Then I went to our discount food store. I stocked up on lots of yogurts--Siggi's and Fage--and bought all sorts of other food items. I ended up with six heavy shopping bags worth for $37. That place is remarkable, but today I found so many things I wanted that I felt I had some divine intervention. :-)

I always go shopping with one or two of my daughters and we drive around 15 to 20 miles to shop most of the time. We usually go once a week, depends on what they have to shop for. I am flexible. I do not buy too much in the small town that is near as most of the time they are way too expensive. Even if I only shopped once a month I would still go where there are cheaper prices and stock up on things. I still stock up, winter is coming and I don't want to have to have them lug in heavy or bulky things then.

Smart bunny. Not a grocery store bargain, but I got an quote for new kitchen cabinets today that was a wee bit less than two previous quotes.

LOL at the bunny! HAHAHA!

It wasn't this week but a couple weeks back I headed to Aldi for a few things. Along with some grocery items I picked up a splatter guard for $2.49. It's much like the universal lids that came with my T-fal set and I liked that this one has a small glass part so you can see into it. Probably would have bought two but I got the last one they had and I didn't feel like going to other stores to see if they had any left. Also got an electric frypan for $15 and decided to try an induction unit for $35. Thought it might be a good companion for the cast iron braiser I got at Aldi a while back. Decided to try some silicone pans too. Some seem to love them and some seem to hate them but I thought they might work well in the convection oven. Also picked up some slow cooker liners to try in the Nesco. $1.50 a box. Saw they were twice that at the "W" store.

This is the spatter guard I got:

My daughter Cheryl, bought one of the spatter guard lids there also and I bought some of the crock pot liners. They do not always carry the liners so bought a few boxes of them. I did not buy the lid as I have one similar to the ones on sale there. Cheryl thought she would try the induction burner. She may have gotten a bad one as it did not work well for her. She took it back. I do find most of their items are very good. I am giving all the big girls in my family a nice skillet from there for Christmas.
