I created a pullout shelf at the bottom, then hinges then drawers.

Here's what it looks like, The four hinges will make the drawer placement awkward. I have no idea how to create a pullout shelf, but it sounds great!

Ikea gas special hinges for the tall cabinets. I think they are 153 degree hinges. Maybe you used the standard 135 degree ones.

Thanks so much. We do have the special hinges, but placing them gets in the way of the drawers. I assume that we need all 4 hinges, correct?

Yes, the hinges do limit where you can put the drawers. I store my baking steel on the bottom of the pantry where the hinges are. So I'm not wasting that space completely. For the middle hinge I am using that drawer for taller things so it does not bother me to not be able to put the drawer there. For the top hinge, it wouldn't be where you would put a drawer.

I'm not sure what you mean by all 4 hinges? If you have 2 doors on the tall cabinet, you will need 4 hinges. We are using 3 hinges on our 60" door with one in the middle. We have 2 hinges on the 30" door. 4 would probably be overkill on a single door.

@beachem, I'd love to see how you created the bottom pull out shelf, if you have a picture.

Are you doing three drawers with drawer fronts on the bottom and then a door above with two inner drawers? That's what we are doing. Our first hinge uses hole #27 from the bottom and it looks like we can put the first drawer slide at #29; 2nd drawer can be around #36, depending on how much space we want in-between. I'd show a pic but we don't have drawers installed yet - it is just stickies marking the holes. We got to these positions by holding up the door to mark where the hinges would be and looking at the different configurations in the IKEA directions to get a starting point for the two inner drawers.

I was all set on 24" Ikea pantries then learned the 60" door has the FOUR hinges. next one up from the bottom hinge is around 16". So figure around 20" up from the bottom if using drawers in the bottom section. This is a huge problem and makes for a nearly non-functional pullout setup.

Anyone removed that one hinge? IDK how to get around it and now thinking of the 30" which means opening TWO doors each time I want to grab something which might be annoying quickly.

I have used the 60” door on the bottom ( sorry no pictures) with inner drawers. You still lose the bottom few inches, but may be easier to space the inner drawers.

I hope someone can help me. My 24"x60" door is out of stock so I don't have it on hand but I can not see whether it has 3 or 4 hinges. The assembly manual online shows a picture of only 3 but in the description it says uses 4 hinges. I have an 18"x60" door but it only has 3 hinges. We are trying to install the drawers while waiting for the door and need to know where the hinges are to be placed. Thanks.

I have installed the door on the high cabinet but now the drawers don’t have enough room to pull out. Do I need a specific 156 degree hinge to have it open wider to have enough clearance?

Had the same problem. The Utrusta 153 degree hinge solves the problem. But, still having problems with drawer spacing due to the hinge placement on the doors covering the pull-outs.
