How often are you all watering your Plumies
Comments (32)Hi Everyone, I also have had lots of rain here on the East Coast, but the temps can change in a blink of an eye!! I find all of the different varieties need water at diifferent times. I check them often and i will wait until they are dry and then water. We all have different climates and humidity can make a difference too! SO, i wouldnt worry about giving to much water if youu have a good draining mix, but it seems like they like to dry and then get watered. I checked all of my trees today, since we had two days of rain and some of them are dry.. I was shocked, but the leaves do protect the soil and sometimes the water can just run off and never reach inside the containers. As the temps start to change and get cooler during the fall, i will be more careful about watering.. especially if i ever mist my plants.. I dont want to encourgae orange rust.. Tomato.. You are doing fine with your watering.. As long as your plants are healthy looking and growing well,, i wouldnt worry. Take care everyone!!! Laura...See MoreSo where is your water heater?
Comments (15)Lots of good suggestions, as usual. The plumbing supply place also recommended the active sensor, so I think we will go with that. Our build is a ranch style house w/ a full basement. Dh wanted to centrally locate the water heater so it's not a long run to any of the bathrooms. Well, that took out the garage as a location. We could put it in the basement, but we'd have to have one with a power vent which meant about a $300 upgrade in cost. Not a huge deal, but the power vent is tied into to the electricity so the water heater would not work if we are w/out power. We live in an area of the south where power loss due to ice storms is something that happens at least once or twice a year, it seems like. It is one of the reasons we chose to go w/ gas....See MoreHow often do you clean your tea kettles and do they mildew?
Comments (7)I don't have a tea kettle but I would assume that if you had a tea kettle with just a little bit of water sitting on the stove when not in use, bacteria, dust and other items present in the air will fall in the kettle and can create a slime factory over time if not cleaned. I personally use an electric tea kettle (British upbringing) and now graduated to a Japanese Airpot. I love my airpot. When I used an electric kettle, I never left water in it and washed it out weekly. I have filtered water and never had a problem with the tea kettles. I clean my airpot out weekly when I have no water left in it. Good luck!...See Morehow often to flush tankless hot water heater
Comments (9)There isn't an exact answer to your question, it will vary by how hard the water is, and how much you use. What they are doing (or should be doing) is removing the lime buildup in the heater with vinegar. The acid will dissolve the hard water deposits that will eventually clog a tankless. It's about a 10-15 minute flush with vinegar. You can google it and see many videos on how to do it. Three years is about right in your situation. I wouldn't just let it go. Tankless heaters use small heating coils to expose the water to heat quickly. You don't want those passages to clog. You can call around for a good price over the phone. They don't need to come out to give you a quote, this is a basic job....See Moreravencajun Zone 8b TX
