WANTED: Hoya pubicalyx 'leenie'
Comments (1)I am a great fan of the Hoya pubicalyx. I have just started collecting, and while most are not big enough to take cuttings from, I did recently receive extra cuttings of 'Splash' if you would be interested in it. You can email me at jan2san@verizon.net and mention hoya pubicalyx....See MoreHoya pubicalyx splash/gray lady
Comments (2)Billie Rae, I'd guess you have Hoya pubicalyx 'Pink Silver'. Somewhere along the line someone pinned the name 'Splash' on it, probably because the plant they had had more flecking the normal 'Pink Silver'! I'm assuming your plants white streaks would be considered silver to others..... Anyhoo, check out this link! If I'm right that's what your flowers will look like, scroll all the way down she has a nice foliage picture as well! Comments (42)Hi i am new here, just glad to see most of the variations in H pubicalyx listed here. I wonder why the old maroon pubicalyx is not included, i thought that is the old main reference for pubicalyx. I am from the Philippines and i have another 2 variations which are different from those you already posted. I have 1 with whose flowers are pinkish with slight visible stripes/striations along the corolla, the leaves are like the 'BlackDragon' and H celata (purely light green without specks). I guess it is not named yet or maybe i just don't know. I also have the 2nd with roundish leaves and long internodes, but the flowers are chimeric almost like RHP but bigger umbels. I will post here the photos (but am not sure if i can as am not familiar with posting here yet), thanks....See MoreIs it possible to ID Hoya Pubicalyxs (photo heavy)
Comments (1)Good luck with that :-)....very handsome plants, but I believe the pubicalyx cultivars have been so heavily crossed and re-crossed with one another that there's pretty much no way to tell them apart....basically I just choose a leaf type and a flower color I like and then buy that one....even then the leaves and flowers can be variable on the same plant from one season to the next--so it's basically a crap shoot....I would say just enjoy them for what they are and be surprised (happily I hope) by what the flowers look like......See More- 7 years ago
