White microwave- good or bad idea?

We have a small kitchen and are getting new white cabinets to make it feel bigger. I'm debating if we should get a white over the range microwave instead of stainless steel to draw less attention to it.

The range will still be stainless steel

Thoughts?

I hear you on the microwave dilemma! I hate the look of microwaves also. Since you have a small kitchen, is there an area close by where you could put the microwave (other than in the upper cabinets/over the range)? I had a friend who also hated microwaves, so she put hers in her laundry room! Although it sounds strange, it was just a few steps further from the center of her kitchen space and I ended up loving the idea (but that's not for everyone, nor may it be an option in your house). My gut reaction to using a white microwave to blend in with the cabinets instead of matching the finish of your other appliances is "don't", but there are always exceptions. Can you put the microwave in a base cabinet instead? There are microwave drawers (more expensive) or you could just have a base cabinet built to accommodate a regular microwave (less expensive and possibly less noticeable than an upper cabinet or over the range microwave).

Both grasses are very large and pretty aggressive. Indian grass in particulare is a beautiful plant, but it seeded itself all over my garden and overwhelmed other plants. I would only recommend either of these them for real prairie restorations. For a semi-shade setting I recommend wild rye, river oats, or bottlebrush grass -- all moderately tall, with nice-looking seed heads. They will probably spread by seed, too, but I find them easy to control.

There are like three makers who make almost all of the microwaves for everyone. Bosch isn't one of them (Sharp and Panasonic are). Just choose something that looks okay with the oven and don't give it another thought. Most people who choose their own appliances don't buy them as a suite from one manufacturer unless they're given a incentive offer they can't refuse. Some makers do one thing better than another, while a different maker does the other thing better than the first. Or if not better, at least in a way that you prefer. If you put a little bit of trim in between the oven and MW it won't matter if the finish doesn't match exactly either.

I am currently designing my new kitchen. Going to the cabinet maker tomorrow. I'm hoping he will solve my measurement problem I AM putting in a corner wall oven and microwave. I just love this design although it is a wall eater. OK, my problem. I have a 27" oven (with it being 30 inches at the door. ) The mic measures 29". I am hoping that a 30" cabinet will do the trick. I still need to know how much wall space on each wall is going to be needed. It is about impossible to search and find an answer. This thread mentions 41" for a 30" corner cabinet, another site listed 45 and yet another was 50 something. Yikes. Update: I went to the cabinet guy today and he told me I needed 48" on each wall (from the corner) for a 30" cabinet. So come on people, what is the real answer to this question?

Thanks - Suspected that and didn't want to risk a bunch of cats on such a fresh start, so moved most to the ground where they'll likely become ant food. Will watch the few that remain on the slim chance I can get a photo or otherwise confirm an id.

I put a white microwave in with white cabinets. It blended in so much better than the stainless one I had previously.

She is using it as a hood fan and IMO it should be stainless like the stove
