Comments (9)Thanks Linda, the Gallo? plate doesn't appear to be 'hand painted' unless they did that before glazing since surface is smooth, usually I see hand painting applied last. front is a funky, ick multi color skinny rooster. I take it you cant make out the 2 letters above ITALY either. 2nd photo is squared center base framed by a rounded square shape 8" diameter only 1/2" deep...maybe luncheon, found 12 of these-do you think maybe Mid cent(not a mark one)? As far as the swirl bowl (I did use it for tulips last spring&floated roses also)...is the #10 representative of anything? I've seen some Hazel Atlas stuff with numbers but cant find this one which I do like. And as for the goblets...I do like these, have a few all clear & 6 pink. I'll search Fostoria & Cambridge-keeping these. Family seemed to recycle alot of this old stuff(I mean like the depression era stuff) NOT the rooster. Just want to make sure I'm not discarding anything that may be worth anything. I do like dating things, makes me think what life or hands it passed through prior. Comments (23)I needed additional dishes before the holidays and bought these in Nov, description said fired hotter and more resistant to breakage...sent for three 24-piece services (6 place settings x 3 for 18 place settings). The mugs at 10 oz might have been a better size if they'd been 12 oz, but I have many larger clear glass coffee mugs from a restaurant supply for those times people want a man sized cuppa coffee. They seem to fit the description (workhorses :)) although I haven't had them that many weeks, but I have to tell you I didn't pay the $208.80, or the $129.95 either. They were $69.95 per service and shipping was free. I don't know how often they are discounted that deeply. We'd moved and I had room finally for my table with all its leaves in place, much more kitchen cabinetry, and was on the hunt for several things - signed up for their email notices. These were one of the first email sale offers I received. Here is a link that might be useful: Sur la Table Bistro dinnerware...See MoreHelp--glass plates and bowls shattering in speed oven
Comments (9)A microwave by itself isn't going to damage any glass container. Glass containers will fail when there is a big temperature gradient, like the bowl is very hot and you put it on a cold surface, or vice versa, or something in the bowl gets very hot in a very small focal point while everything else around it is cool. Perhaps that is what is happening in your new speed oven. The other issue with glass cookware is how you clean it. Never use an abrasive cleaner of any kind on glass cookware unless it is specifically labeled as ok to use on glass....See MoreIf you use drawers for your plates/cups/bowls/glasses
Comments (16)To the left of my dishwasher in the top drawer is cutlery, middle drawer is plates, bowls, and bottom drawer is storage containers. To the right of the sink, the top drawer has the 8 oz. tumblers and coffee mugs, middle drawer holds the taller drinking glasses, pint glasses, and taller coffee mugs. Bottom drawer holds the Instant Pot and Cuisinart griddler. It's very easy to unload the dishwasher because the majority of the items are in very close proximity. The one thing that is quite a ways from the dishwasher is the drawer for the water bottles. Those are kept next to the refrigerator/beverage drawers in the second island. The caps are in the top drawer and the bottles are in the middle drawer, kitchen towels are in the bottom. I struggled with this when planning the kitchen, but in the end I decided it would be most convenient to have them next to where the kids would most likely use them. It keeps them out of the work flow, so that's a big bonus, even if it does mean having to walk a ways to put them away when unloading the dishwasher....See MoreRelated Professionals
