That is exactly why I no longer have cable! When I stay in a hotel and have it, it drives me crazy. On the downside, this is why I have to wait until tomorrow to watch The Walking Dead. :(

Jae, that's exactly why I refuse to watch movies on TV. Too many commercial breaks and too much of the movie itself gets edited out.

Plus it stretches the total watching time out so that it eats up more of your day to stay with a particular show. Or it makes it run too far into the night.

That's why so many people opt to watch movies using Amazon Prime, Netflix, Pay Per View and the regular movie channels like HBO, etc.

I usually record most of what I watch so I can ff through them but this happened to catch my eye while I was looking for something else. A typical hour-long show on network channels have about 40 - 45 of content.

And on the same night, with recording them, we can watch 3 one hour shows in a little over 2 hours.

We record almost everything also and then watch it. The commercials are insane.

Ei jei jei you all crack me up. I have a small TV, hooked up to a digital antennae, but I do have a roku box, and a netflix account, that I don't use much. I hardly ever watch plain ole TV. but when I do, I like the commercials. Gives me time to get a snack, or go to the bathroom.... :)

Commercials are intolerable. My time is worth something. I cannot even stand them on Jeopardy. I record anything I want and FF through the many commercials, often disgusted at how long it takes even then. I also watch Masterpiece Theater and Netflix.

I got nuts with commercials, maybe I'm just getting old but they drive me insane! I have to carry my remote so I can shut them up they get on my nerves so bad.

Thinkcommercials would be easier to take if they weren't so INANE!!

I don't watch TV very often at all partly because I find commercials so frustrating. I mute the commercials when watching the news and sometimes record programs so that I can ff through the ads. I keep the TV turned on most evenings but keep it muted so I can read, do things on the computer, etc. DH watches TV in the computer room and it definitely is not muted!

I despise the commercials. There are very few TV shows that I watch, and if I'm watching one, like so many of you, I mute the commercials. I find most TV movies not worth my time. I check out TCM (Turner Classic Movies) and either watch or record for later. Recently saw For Whom the Bell Tolls. Great story there. I like to find the old comedies, and of course the real classics, like The Grapes of Wrath, Casablanca, How Green Was My Valley, and even right now there is a series of Frankenstein, which I remember some of from when I was just a youngster. I read someplace that most, or all, made for TV movies have one theme. "Boy Meets Girl, Boy Gets Girl, Boy Loses Girl, Boy Gets Girl Back. The End."

We record the network news to be able to ff the commercials. It is amazingly obvious how little news is on these shows when you do that.

I've gotten so used to watching recorded shows it's like torture watching a show as it's playing....Me and DS were catching up on The Blacklist and even though it was recorded and we could fast forward through the commercials, it felt like every few minutes there was a commercial break!!

Commercials are so annoying. I DVR all my commercial shows so I can fast-forward through them. Even so, there seem to be more commercials than ever, so sometimes I just wait for things to come out on Amazon Prime or Netflix. The PBS shows don't have commercials, and most of them are very good. Acorn shows a lot of them.
