Not getting much outside time in while looking after DH who recently had surgery. My resting time involves puzzles and reading.

Petalique asked for a picture of my pup, and I'm only too happy to oblige. (Hope I haven't posted this one before.) I inquired here about the breed 7 years ago, and Chisue, who had a Westie at the time, encouraged my family to get this breed.

Oski perches on the sofa back like a cat. He has been a joy to our family, through thick and thin. (He's named for UC Berkeley's mascot, the bear Oski.)

Not looking good. We took her to the emergency vet and while most of her test results came back fine, she has an extremely low platelet count...5,000 vs. a normal of 180,000 to 200,000. Not sure why...if it's infection or something else. But she is in danger of bleeding out.

So strange since literally, last night, she was fine...

Annie, please keep us posted on Misty. That is really weird, and I'd love to know what caused it. I hope it's treatable with meds.

I sure hope that you find the reason for the low platelet count and that Misty makes a speedy recovery. Poor kitty!

Oh no, so sorry Annie. What can they do to make her better?

Annie, she doesn't go outside, does she? Could she have been poisoned? Or eaten something that is toxic? Poor Misty. I hope she can be helped.
