People are really nice here and will just give them to you...too bad that you didn't post earlier in the year, as it's already fall and it's time for blooming, and they don't root all that well during fall time. if you remind me next year during the spring/summer I'll send you them. these are more that I propagated this past growing season.

Silenteyesspy, are you sure those are true CC? The one on the left looks like a Thanksgiving Cactus. The one on the right looks like an Easter Cactus

I believe that a true CC only has 3 "scallops" per segment. This one seems to have more. Also, an EC has those little hairs growing at the end.

I'm no expert, but I would guess the one on the right is an EC. Hope the images and explanation help.

Shye, I would like to suggest you join a Facebook page dedicated exclusively to "Holiday Cacti". You might be able to purchase or trade for a true CC there.

I'm pretty sure that Greg was just pointing out the CC in the container as the propagations from this year. Yes, the plant creeping in from the left is obviously a Thanksgiving cactus.

I've been looking over my CC's, and while most of the phylloclades have three "scallops," I see some that have what could be considered four - especially on the stiffer segments.

hellkitchenguy Manuel I'm not trying to sound mean or anything, but I know what I have...why do people always assume that people are wrong when giving really good advice? Take a look HellKichen, I have all 3, Truncata, Xbuckley and Hatiora Gaertneri, aka Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter Cactus.

My Mom had an old one with narrower "leaves" -- she said that was the true old fashioned Christmas Cactus. Does anyone know about the width of leaves?

@ Martha Scott IMO narrow leaves on a ' Christmas cactus' could be possible. maybe the foliage is thinner from the lack of lighting /sunning.

Yes, the leaves are often narrower on a Christmas Cactus.

Shye, there's a small number of offers on eBay for "schlumbergera buckleyi". Prices are silly high and the closer we get to the Holidays seems the higher they go.

shye I hope you didn't spend too much, and I hope they work out for you...remember, put them in pure perlite to start them off, and then pure orchid bark.

Thanks to your pictures, I find that I have TWO Thanksgiving cactus and one true Christmas one. The Christmas one is the "child" of a cactus that is reportedly 100 years old. Thanks for the info.
