Laurie, my yellow Daturas look the same as yours, they're called Datura metel Triple Yellow from JL Hudson. Marcia, save seed from your Double Purple if you can, I tried sowing some 'Blackcurrant Swirl' last Feb with no success ;) I don't do anything special with the Garden Mums, other than don't let them dry out, they have shallow roots and need constant moisture. Mulch and compost good around the plants and divide every 3 years. Two new ones that I purchased eary this spring are called Morden Firestorm and Tigertail, not much of a show this year but I expect them to be grand next year. Yeah I know they just had to fuss and reclassify the name to Dendranthemum, but to me Chrysanthemums will always be Chrysanthemums in my garden ;) Sharon

Aster laevis blooms around the end of August. Aster alpinus Alpine Aster blooms early around the end of June, early July. Aster sedifolius nanus, blooms around August. Around September... Aster novae-angliae Aster dumosus 'Anneke' Aster novi-belgii 'Professor Anton Kippenberg'

Thanks folks, its definitely been fun this year. Couldn't have done it without many of you!...you know who you are. Surprising I haven't been to Stone Wall. I'm plan to check out the dwarfs next spring! I got 'Twister' as a little pup from a local nursery. TJ, after that 32 degree night a while back it really cranked it up around here. Some of my plants haven't started to color up at all and others are far along. My neighbor has several large established Autumn Blaze maples that are already coloring up. I think the cool temps. in combo with the drought like conditions are accelerating fall's onset.
