How to find a leak (when we can't see it above ground)
Comments (1)hb, What is in the box? Did you turn off the main valve? What happens? Describe your entire irrigation system and explain where the wet box is located within that system. Are you using a vacuum breaker backflow control with each valve? More info the better. Aloha...See MoreWindow leak - how long to dry out?
Comments (3)Well, I still haven't found a definitive answer on the wood moisture %, but things are looking up, although the job has taken longer than planned. We tried the hose test as suggested and did not see any moisture intrusion. I hired someone to apply Siloxane to the brick exterior, as an added precaution. The sheetrock was removed, the studs and trim wood cleaned & treated, and a mildewcide applied everywhere. Moisture readings are down dramatically after several days of airing out then running the dehu at night. We're holding off on the new (MR) insulation and drywall until this Saturday because heavy rain is expected Friday and that should be a good test. If all goes well, I hope to have the wall repaired and painted by Monday morning....See MoreHow to find leak ?
Comments (3)Yes I have gutters, I'll have to go out and check those. I haven't got my stove vented yet so can't be that. Are any of you from the midwest? Comments (3)ukgreg66, Leaks that cause the water to bleed out of the filter tank when it is off will be on the suction side of the pump. 1. Check to make sure water level in pool is at the correct level. 2. Check the threaded connections on the pump. If they are male adapters that is a good possibility. If you need to replace these use sch 80 nipples. 3. Check the skimmer bottom. Some of the older skimmers were two piece. These usually have a black bottom with a white body skimmer. Kits are available for this repair. 4. Check to see if water is leaking along the motor shaft. Water will be dripping somewhere along the bottom of the motor/pump assembly. These are most common areas that cause suction leakage. Good luck....See More- 10 years ago
