sunken tub crazy??
Comments (7)I donÂt know, maybe itÂs just me, but I tend to think that the happiest people are those who die without regrets. And especially this is so if the decisions they regret are ones they could have easily reversed, had they simply the courage to go in another direction. Had I but room enough and time, the tub I would install in a heartbeat in our own home is one I wrote about some time ago in a blog I titled Somewhere, because for me it really is somewhere in a distant land IÂm destined to never visit. ItÂs too long to print out here, but thereÂs a link to it at the bottom of this if youÂre interested. But I do believe that if I had the room for it in our homeÂand the necessary money for the purchase, this is an indoor pool/tub that I would install in a heartbeat. What I most want in a bathroom is a place that is luxurious, that is comfortable, that is a retreat from the world. And to the extent that it is possible, I mean to achieve it for us. That said, though, ours areÂand will remainÂfive by nine cracker boxes that simply do not permit something as luxurious as a sunken tub. But if itÂs what you want, and what you can afford, I say, go for it. Because you only go around once. Comments (15)I understand your desire to replace seldom/never-used tub with walk-in shower. We put a walk-in shower (without door or curtain necessary) in our previous home, which we built 25 years ago. It was one of our favorite features in the house and, when we built our current home put in a walk-in shower in the master once again. We didn't include a tub to gather dust. However, we do have a second full bath four our adult disabled child. Our child doesn't like showers and only takes baths. However, we included a showerhead with the tub for possible visitors or in case our shower was out of commission for a while. I think, if you're not worried about resale and don't figure on children/grandchildren in the future, you'd be fine without a tub if that is your preference. However, if, like most of us, you do have the possibility of resale in the future then you would have to be willing and able to put in a tub in order to sell the house. While I don't want a tub in my master bath, I wouldn't want to have a home that didn't include an available tub (even if DH and I never use it)....See MoreNew Home with cracked tub
Comments (17)" It’s not obvious to the naked eye but once you really look you can see where it was" The reason you noticed is because you knew that something was there, or you would have never known. Most builders being this a tract home or a million dollar home by a custom builder such repairs are being made all the time if minor blemishes occur on the surface of a fiberglass or acrylic tub, shower pan, etc. The only thing in most cases it will be fixed before a customer will see it and after that nobody will ever notice that anything was there. The only person will know is a person who knows that the repair was done. That said these sort of repairs are done on minor scratches and minor "nicks" that is why you will never tell that any repair was done. If the tub body is actually cracked that would be considered structural and the professionals who do these repairs would never fix them because the tub must be repaired. As the professionals go who do these repairs most work for plumbing supply stores and are certified to perform these repairs by most known manufacturers. They will use the same paint brand and color number so the repair is seamless....See More1960s Gold tile, sunken tub, bathroom help!
Comments (4)haha! I'm laughing. Thank you for the input. yes, the lights drive me crazy. From previous owner. I haven't tackled this room yet, because it's low priority for me... but I've been forced to give it some attention, now. I'd really prefer another style, but I suppose we could at least flip them the correct way. The art is original to the previous owner as well. They left everything behind! I just haven't gotten to this room since we're blending a family with 11 kids, doing the distance learning thing, and have a bunch of repairs and higher priority projects I've focused on. Literally didn't even touch some of the ordinary art just out of exhaustion. lol! Love the input so far! Thank you...See Morenanajj
