Can you post a picture of them? If they're beneficial or benign insects, nobody's going to want you to kill them! Most of us old-time gardeners want to know just what insect it is, first to determine if it should be left alone, and if not, the best way to treat them. Did you know that more than 95% of insects you see in a garden are benign or beneficial? So don't kill insects wholesale. Make sure you ID it as a pest before dispatching it. You may have flea beetles that have been chewing your lettuce. Is it shot-holed?

Here is my two cents worth. I have bought a few daylilies from the Lily Auction. First look where they are coming from. I understand southern growers are apt to have the dreaded "rust". You don't want that. I then look how much shipping costs are. I alway try to buy several at a time to save on shipping. I also look at his past record. He/she should have a near 100% approval rating. I am in Zone 7 North Ga. but pretty close to Zone 6. We get weather no colder than -5. I keep my lilies mulched with mini pine bark. I would buy from any of the states around me, Alabama, TN., Mississippi, but I also buy from further north, Ohio, PA, etc. I bought two from abundadantlilies or something like that and he was great to deal with. With over 500 hostas, having naming plates is a must. I got behind last year and am struggling with the names of tons of them that lost the plastic markers over the winter or the name faded from using a Sharpie to mark them. I keep a spreadsheet that indicates the date purchased, where I bought it, and how much I paid for it (but not total on amount paid since that would probably send me into shock). I also have a column for eye count for each year. I added a column for which garden bed the hosta is in this year. Hopefully, by the end of next week, I'll have it updated and will be able to deduce what my NO ID's are by the ones left without a garden name in them. I have a file folder for each garden and put shots of the gardens in those folders. Then I have a file folder for hostas and inside that folder have a folder for each hosta. I usually keep the folder sorted by name, but will sort it by date modified so I can see which hosta I haven't got a picture of for the year. I name each picture by the cultivar and the date taken. For example: Vim and Vigor 2013 05 30 This way you can view through each hosta by date and see it's changes. I use Picasa 3 from (free from google) to crop the pictures and add text. Picasa has a great system to catalog your pictures if you want to use it. I don't mark my duplicates if they are all together. For instance, I have a border of Golden Tiara's, they not marked. However, I have a Liberty in the front and one in the back. They're both marked. It helps when you're looking for them when they come up in the spring. My recommendation is to START NOW before it becomes unmanageable. I would be in a heap of trouble with my NOID's had I not started my spreadsheet when I only had 50 hostas. Gesila

I was NOT impressed with photos I saw of this plant - I thought it looked ghastly! And then I saw it in real life and in bloom and I couldn't resist :-) In my climate, the pink was a much richer, deeper jewel-tone color than the pics depicted and a great contrast to the chartreuse. And the coloring just gets better as the flowers age. I should also let you know that I am not a fan of 'pink' in virtually any shade - never owned a pink hydrangea and never wanted one and selectively removed anything else in the garden that bloomed pink. Obviously this plant seriously impressed me :-))
