French door refrigerators vs side by side refrigerators
Comments (5)It all depends on personal preference. We have a side--by-side. We once had a small chest (not upright) type freezer for several years. What I learned from that experience is that I will not dig around while bent over, leaning down into something, to find what I am looking for. Especially lifting stuff out to find something at the bottom. It is easier on my back to have the freezer section vertically configured. Therefore, a french door with freezer drawer on bottom style refrigerator won't work for me. I prefer SxS. Meanwhile, our son loves their French door fridge and that is the only style he will buy. He is on his second. ....See MoreKitchen Aid side by side refrigerator freezing on the inside
Comments (1)An on-target suggestion of potential causes requires the model number of the appliance. Generically, a defrost problem can cause your symptoms. Assuming your model is not a dual-evaporator design, all cooling originates in the freezer section with some airflow diverted to the fresh food side to cool it. Failure to defrost clogs the evaporator which obstructs airflow, and thus the freezer section, in which the evaporator is located, maintains freezing temperatures but the fresh section doesn't get enough airflow. Multiple components can be the source of failure to defrost .... defrost heating element, defrost thermostat, defrost timer or control board (whichever is involved in your unidentified model). Troubleshooting / diagnosis is required to pinpoint the cause....See MoreAnyone have a Gaggenau Column side by side refrigerator ?

Comments (6)LOL. Yes......my guess its either the thermistor or the board but I do not know enough to troubleshoot them. I have a guy coming by to look at it tomorrow. The videos have a sensor shown which AFAIK is the only one there but looks nothing like the part I am calling a thermistor. I cannot find any part that looks like the sensor which I would expect to see in the inside somewhere. The thermistor is actually attached to the compressor....See MorePensacola PI
