Please help me decide on dining and living room chairs
Comments (7)I think your dining room chair options are a great idea. I am not sure I understand the curtains in the dining room where you can see the stairs going up on the side. Does that separate the LR from the DR? You asked for other suggestions and mine would be to take them down. As for the LR, I don't think it'd be too much wicker for either of those chairs. I think the first one looks nicer or more contemporary. The 2nd one looks more grandmotherly or porch-y IMHO. Depending upon the proximity of LR to DR you might consider whether this is too much, I couldn't tell but otherwise I think the style and texture would look nice with your sofa, art, colors, etc. Trim - I think black would be a preference thing. It would look fine, maybe make the rooms look more dark - you seem to have a lot of darker accessories so depending on the look you are after... The white looks fine as-is. You could try the 'cut out black construction paper and tape it on the trim to check it out' before painting technique (or hope for a photoshopper to help). Good luck - they are nice rooms!...See MoreCan’t decide! Rug or no rug in dining room?!
Comments (11)I'm always team rug. A good rug will always enhance a space. eSale rugs recently added great rug viewer. Upload your picture with a few clicks and you can try many different rugs in your room. If you do find one you like online, order the smallest size available if possible. Then you can check the color and texture in your house without worrying about wrapping a huge rug and dragging it to the post office. esalerugs.com...See Moreneed help to decide whether to do formal dining room or not?
Comments (28)In our old layout, I eliminated the formal living room years ago...because of the way we live, it was absolutely wasted sqft. I turned it into a dining room and we used it a lot for birthday parties, making puzzles, reading plans etc. When designing our reno/addition, I for sure was going to keep the dining room but took out the eat in kitchen in stead. We added a larger island with seating for 5 (there are 6 of us...when everyone sits down, we use the dining room). We have enough space to seat 12 in the dining room, and also a 6 seater table on the deck outside the kitchen. This works for us. Nothing is formal, every place gets used by everyone....See MoreNeed help on deciding on a dining room table *type, chairs, color*
Comments (2)It is an awkward space and the step down needs to be factored into the size of the table. What are the measurements? Don't included the walkway from the other room....See MoreRelated Professionals
