It appears most of us will get good rains this weekend
Comments (13)I'm not even watching the radar because I think it will be "passover" at our house. If we get anything, I'll be happy, but I am not expecting anything. After looking at the 5-day QPF this morning, I shrugged and said "not us, then" and went on about my day. Some of y'all will get rainfall, but we won't get much here. We do have lots of clouds though, and that has cooled us off from 94 to 92 degrees in the last hour. I am thinking that the rain is stalling or has slowed down a lot because the amounts shown on the mesonet are not very impressive so far. Often, though, we are so far south that the rain hits us a day or two later after all of y'all get it, so maybe we'll just get late rain here instead of no rain at all. I wouldn't get all discouraged and give up on the rain that is supposed to fall. For us, the big day when we might get it has been Saturday all along, so I think we can expect rain on Sunday if it falls here at all. After all, y'all, it is only Friday afternoon and you still have tonight and the whole weekend ahead of you with prospects for rain for most areas for some portion of the weekend. If y'all didn't wash your cars or make plans to paint the house, then don't blame anyone but yourselves if the rain fails to materialize. lol Dawn Here is a link that might be useful: Map: Rainfall Since Midnight...See MoreRoses in bloom before the rain
Comments (6)Thank you so much Lilyfinch! Peggy Martin is coming into full bloom soon. I've got my dad now wanting to plant her around their fence and a couple friends on theirs as well. Love that rose and perfect for beginners too! You should definitely get her! She doesn't have the best rebloom like many of my other roses throughout the year but she is one heck of a showstopper in spring and will certainly give you that pop of color in your garden! I'll post again when she's in full bloom. That stinks your neighborhood doesn't allow chickens or ducks. :( If we ever move to another neighborhood rather than some land and a house, I've always said first requirement would be it must allow my feathered babies! lol The ducks have been so much more fun to raise than my chickens, they have such personality and are just so much cuter, although I will always love my chickens. :) ~Meghan By the way, see my pics are squashed too. I didn't feel like resizing since Annette said you can see it full size by clicking on it....See MoreRoses before the rain dump
Comments (21)Yes, Toffee is a sweetie...he's the perfect dog. Sometimes too smart isn't the best..and he's not the smartest dog you'll ever see...while my female is uber smart. I give my dogs choices, and they pick what they want to do. My female, Jellybean, once found someone's keys in the field and on another occasion brought a puppy back to its owners. I tried to train her as a service dog for me for my mobility...she could do everything, but she was afraid of escalators. She was two at the time and had never seen one. She would turn me left or right on command. She was awesome. She can get me anything I want...tissue, remote control, socks from the pile of clothes, my shoes, anything I drop, etc. She's very smart! I agree with you!!! I love, love, love Chartreuse de Parme!! I am so glad I got it!!! However, Radox Bouquet (one of my new roses this year) has the best fragrance ever!!! Even in terrible weather, its scent is fabulous!!! Thank you so much!! Carol...See MoreRoses before more rain
Comments (21)Beth - thank you!! Chandos Beauty is a fabulous rose!! It daily strikes me with its beauty and fragrance. I had to use the cup method though - to get rid of the thrips. You wouldn't be sorry if you bought Chandos Beauty!! Carol...See Moredan8_gw (Northern California Zone 9A)
