What kind of pendants would you put here?
Comments (0)Hi there! I am about to move into a new home and would really like to change out these kitchen pendants. Since the tile/countertops/cabinets aren't the style I would have picked on my own, I am having trouble figuring out what kind of pendants would look good. What pendants would you put here?...See MoreWhat kind of rug would look best in this area?
Comments (8)Me too. Agree IdaClaire's suggestion is a great way to go, big no to the little rug. If a longer runner happened to call to you, though, your other option could also work beautifully -- one long runner unifying the entire upper landing and leading to a focal point (cabinet with art, whatever) on the right wall. Then a small rug could be used to define the little shared bedroom hall....See MoreWhat kind of rug is this? What rugs would work in close proximity?
Comments (13)Hi Boopadaboo, sorry for delay, we were on a exhibition. The "fancy" triangle rug is a nomadic design. I am not sure if i understood you correctly, but if you need two more rugs + the current navy blue rug then i would NOT recomend to keep the frame colour same as the inside field colour on all three rugs, it could get too old. I thought you was just talking about 1 more rug to add to your current navy blue rug, here then you would had to pay more attention to build a harmony. The one with the big "fancy" triangle is a very interesting original design, but it could be to much for this pupose, but i am not sure. The last one, the runner looks nice, could match with the blue navy, the cost of it is not so high as it is syntetic, so you also dont risk so much. If you would pay more for original handmade rugs, then you would need advices of the local rug dealer. If you have further questions, bring them up. Comments (13)I agree with the layout of 2 sofa's L config facing the lake and FP. I would also add the 2 lower chairs by the slider. The chandelier needs to come down lower. It would help define the LR space and make it more intimate. Although you have high ceilings, which is great, but making it more intimate and welcoming is the goal for living in them. There is no way you will distract from the beauty of the windows and the lake. From an aesthetic point of view, the chandelier will not win against Mother Nature. From the outside IN, it would be beautiful to see a chandelier at night. Functionally, however, it is lighting the second floor and the ceiling. If it's that bright to light the downstairs, then I can't imagine how bright it is upstairs where someone maybe trying to rest. I would drop it or consult a lighting expert as well (who will probably tell you the same thing) It can function better....See More
