The correct botanical name is Hippeastrum papilio. IMHO there is no difference in meaning between papillio and papilio. Jackie. thank for that pretty picture series! The last image and these directed on the side of the flowers reveal that my assmption was wrong that your papil(l)io is essentially more gracile than mine. No, it exhibits the same stable, compact performance. But, as I described previously it does contain more color distributed on its flower segments, particularly on the three lower ones! It is a general flaw of many bicolored knight star lilies that the lower half of the flower is weakly colored and in some cases almost white (and green, respectively) This is the case in my clone of papilio. But, this difference might be partially due to the fact that your flowers are exposed to direct daylight - and mine not, since they have to live in a perpetuous confinement behind window glass *LOL* The feathery parts (short filaments) in the center of the flower - this is a common feature in knight star lilies; afaik every Hippeastrum does produce that. It is a hinted/insinuated structure of a by-crown (sorry for possibly inadequate terminology) botanuically correct: Paracorolla. This second crown is so very common in Amaryllids! Pronounced paracorollas (imagined to have been developed by fusion of these feathery structures and finally forming a tube) are produced by Eucharis, Hymenocallis, Narcissus, Galanthus, Leucojum.... and Placea! Thanks palmcirtusbananavaz7! Dennis, I think the largest majesty I saw was in the part 1 of the pics. Im trying to remember if I saw a larger majesty palm because I think I did, but their definitely weren't too many large majesty palms. But the majesty palms I did see looked very healthy! I think depending on the fabric, I will charge any where from $10.00 to $15.00. also depends on if I can get the lavender buds also. I am making some for some of our local shops and also some for family xmas gifts and also giving each of the girls in the office one for Christmas.. I think sometimes our office girls are forgotten how hard they work for us.. I am sending Leveta some for her shop along with some potato bags and rice bags.
