I got really big packages for my Mom and her husband at Sams, came to about 25 cents per pant. They have models shaped for males and models for ladies, and unisex. I bought boxes and took it to them on visits. They both liked the fit. It is possible that the retirement community could organize a coop (or you could do it for them) and get a super deal for all residents. It would be an easy negotiation and perhaps they could even deliver regularly biweekly or once monthly or whatever.

Most communities leave that up to the individual. The person that has the problems needs to discuss with doctor about what can be done. I do have a suggestion. Earlier this year I developed rapidly growing uterine polyp's which pressed on my bladder. For safety I started wearing the various underwear at night. Each brand and type within the brand fits differently. Problem I had was that most were too tight and felt like they were cutting into my crotch. This will be a problem with most diapers since to hold the fluid when it first emerges before it is absorbed the leg must be tight to contain it. There are some pads for mid incontinence which also cover the anal area that could be turned around for a man. The newer nighttime ones have a flat covering that stays flat rather than bunching like many of those that I tried. Talk to your parents to see if they have any that they want to try then either purchase a smaller container or go on line and ask for samples. They may need both day and night time ones or just one type. Once they find ones that they like you can order them on line and have them sent from various companies. I ordered my husband some from Amazon when he had a UTI but other company's also ship. I would select a company that ships for free since shipping can become expensive. If either one has a large waist or hips there are none that will really fit and be comfortable.

On another subject, how come all this old people talk is about ones who are the same age as me? How is that (me being nearly 60) possible? Last I remember I was 30.

Almost everyone thinks of their parents as being old like the OP. I wondered why they were looking for active living places for their parents unless the parents were moving closer to them. Today I am feeling old because I watched one of my favorite YouTube posters tour several castles in Korea and realized I no longer have the stamina or speed to quickly walk across the courtyards being shown plus tour the rest of the building in the complex.

Some medical equipment companies deliver mail order. Check with a local DME supplier about that (the people who sell wheelchairs and walkers). Most will also bill insurance.

Enlarged prostate caused trouble with peeing, cancer was dealt with, tube was installed, 3 - 4 yrs ago but I had to pee frequently and often urgently.

Got underwear, with long pad front to back, with sheet of plastic below, held in sort of a hammock shape by many elastics and rather gauzy material. Over time I need to urinate less frequently and fewer times with urgency such that it caused leakage.

I have taken to drying the wet pads on clothesline to reuse several times.

I find them comfortable and quite easy to use, under long John's in winter.

I buy a pack of 20 in major drugstore, their brand, for about $25.00.

Three or four packs have lasted for quite a long time.

One wouldn't refer to them as "a pain in the patoot", in either meaning.

My waste elimination system has become somewhat more obedient/less urgently requiring immediate care, and I've returned to using regular briefs, which works almost all of the time.

But, living in the countryside for some time with no car, when hitchhiking, I like to carry not only extra briefs, but a pair of the padded ones, along wit a couple of plastic bags, as well.
