Natural Spider Repellent/Killer?

I know, I know, spiders are natural insect predators and probably good for my vegetable garden but I have a ridiculous fear of them and I'm paranoid about getting bit. I have a vegetable bed that's covered with a row cover right now to ward off grasshoppers but every day when I go to check on the bed there's a new spider. So far I've found a black widow (yay), a small brown spider, and today another reddish-brown spider about an inch long. I'd look up what they are but I can't even look at pictures of them online (it's that bad). Since I planted leafy vegetables I don't want to risk spraying a spider killer but I'd love to know if anyone has any natural solutions to this "benevolent" animal (and the black widow is excluded from that benevolent list)?
