Comments (40)I think I only have two in my garden now so will show some that I no longer have. Was one of my favorites, lovely fragrance. Apricot NectarThis was a Home Depot body end of season sale bag and didn't make it long, but I did get a couple good shots. Brandy: Another of my favorites and I think I need to get this one again. Comments (12)Both are new in my garden this year. Both are own root bands. No blooms yet on Gruss, but CV, planted in an urn, has not been without a cluster of blooms. It was near freezing last night which turned her blooms a deeper color - more like Alchymist. I'm sure I will love Gruss once she gets going, but CV has proven herself. I agree CV needs a little help dropping spent blooms, as do many others, including the lovely First Crush, but no problem pulling them off....See MoreSuggestions for a compact rose bush
Comments (10)Hey Sara Ann, I've been trying to think of a small rose that's not white or light pink...harder than you would think to come up with any suggestions. Intrigue would look great with those you already have in that area, but boy does it black spot here....same with Ebb Tide. Only my second season with Valencia...so far seems like it will stay compact, but not sure its color would work with your others. Heart o' Gold and Eternal Flame are both very tall here, but also very narrow if you have width, but not height restraints. Dame de Coeur was new for me this year, but supposedly doesn't get too big. It's a great bloomer and very healthy so far. Starts out a bright red that might be a bit much for the others, but then takes on a dark, sultry look. Francis Dubreuil/Barcelona is a good bloomer, stays compact, is a beautiful, dark crimson/purple and wonderfully fragrant. Second year with the Austin, Molineux, and think it will stay compact. Lady Emma Hamilton isn't too big either, but may be too orangey. One that I'm excited about, but brand new to me this fall, is Delightful Phyllis sold by Chamblee's. I haven't seen a bloom yet, but it's supposed to be a compact, healthy, fragrant rose with the coloring of Peace....See MoreWhat is your favorite copper/apricot rose?
Comments (59)CPM was doing well in the beginning but it didn't recover after squirrels damaged it two years ago. They seem to like "snapping" off the big canes. Hopefully this year will do better but if not I may have to move it to a different spot. But based on the few blooms I did have, I like Evelyn better because of the bigger blooms and its vigour in my garden....See MoreDave5bWY
