How to cover a large area temporarily
Comments (4)I have thought about eventually having to remove the groundcover. I think it will be a couple years until I'm ready to landscape again. I think I may sow perennial wildflowers next spring where the space is visible to the street -- and deal with mud over this winter until it's time to sow next spring. Then sow annual ryegrass in the real large back space for this winter, leaving some room for some annuals and vegetables next spring in the areas that won't get run over by contractors. Thanks for the suggestions. I didn't answer sooner because I thought I'd get a notice when someone had responded, which I didn't. Do you have recommendations for places to purchase large quantities of ryegrass and wildflower seed, either in the DC area or online?...See MoreTemporarily cover garage door vents
Comments (1)Garage door vents are not designed to 'prevent carbon monoxide poisoning'. They are too small to vent car exhaust. CO levels can easily rise to an unhealthy level even with the door itself open and the auto engine running. I see no problem with closing them off unless you have a gas fired furnace and/or water heater drawing it's combustion air from the garage, but NEVER even start, let alone run, your car with the door less than fully open and make sure any container of lawn mower gas kept in the garage is properly capped....See MoreCan a shower valve dry out and leak temporarily?
Comments (2)The leak had stopped by the time I removed the cover, so I haven't touched the shut offs. Might these leak for a while, and then stop? Would tightening the nuts solve such a leak, or would I need to replace the rubber parts? I guess it's good that it's no longer leaking, but i'm hesitant to fix the ceiling until I'm confident that the leak won't come back. Is there anything else besides rubber seals in a valve that might leak for a while then stop? It seems if it were in a pipe or drain, that the leak would have continued (but I'm really just guessing here)....See MoreI'm temporarily off the grid but OK: x-post small, manufactured, kitch
Comments (6)Debbie a injured back on top of already injured back is not a good combination I do hope you can get some healing going on. I also hope the hoarders get their stuff out. It is May. Happy for you about that. So sorry your internet is not installed yet Bummer. Good so many places have open wifi. Anxious for photos and I do hope you can get the stuff out as planned. Missed you....See MoreRelated Professionals
