Can't find the right faucet

Lisa WJ

We're getting toward the end of renovation decisions, and I cannot find the right faucet.

I'm essentially looking for a boring old faucet:

  • Single level handle on the top
  • Sprayer separate, off to the side
  • Two holes, no wide baseplate

This Moen 7437 is a good example, though I don't love the proportions and the reviews aren't great: http://pro.moen.com/shared/images/ko_webpreview/7437.jpg

The kitchen is small in a 1920s home. There are some nice craftsman aspects, like a breakfast nook. I guess I would call the style functional-quaint, though we're going with nice cabinets and quartz countertops.

I don't like the handle to the right of the faucet because it's awkward to use with your opposite hand. I don't like sprayers built into the faucet because I like the faucet itself to be one solid, easy-to-clean piece.

Please help me find faucets in this style that would work with nicer countertops, or convince me why I'm looking for the wrong thing.
