Stainless steel panels to fix black fridge?
Comments (6)Yeah, GE sells the side panels that fit certain models of their fridges. They are about $500 each. That makes it equivalent of just buying the models that are already stainless wrapped, which are usually 1K over the non stainless wrapped model. Slow down and don't plan on too many changes to a house that you just moved into. Live with it a while before you start putting money and energy into making things different. You don't want to waste money on doing such a temporary cobbled together look. Stainless isn't the be-all end-all of the appliance world, and if you'll read the thousands of posts complaining about it, you might decide that black is OK too. It has it's problems, as do all appliance colors, so wait until you have enough experience and knowledge base of that particular house to pick your poison to remedy....See More!!Rust Problem!!! with Kraus farmhouse sink stainless steel
Comments (60)good luck Missi. I would address the spots quickly. I see that the new ones that appear come off rather easily with a lemon and baking soda followed by a microfiber cloth. I went back over the heavier marks with barkeepers friend and microfiber and many of them came up... I'd be careful with barkeepers friend, though, as it did remove my finish on a few spots -- I may have wet the cloth too much with it. But I would also try the cleaner vinmark suggested. I feel a lot better knowing I can change that sink out if I find the right person to do it so I'm not as upset as I was before. I had a Franke, Dawn and Kohler -- this is all new to me. Never again with Amazon or overstock for me on anything I need to last. My lesson learned....See MoreHow do you feel about smudge proof vs. regular stainless steel applian
Comments (12)I purchased a whirlpool refrigerator/freezer on bottom with smudgeproof coating. coating started peeling around the handles where they screwed in. Icemaker started leaking, water froze up under the large drawer above freezer. This caused the coating to peel on the bottom of the freezer drawer and it rusted. I called the store where i purchased it, naturally my warranty was up. The lady in appliances stated they don’t have anything to do with the appliances, they just sell them. She told me why don’t i paint it! i said what!!! couldn’t believe she said that. I had two service men come out. First one defrosted the ice under the drawer and defrosted line behind icemaker. Said should be fine. After he left, i called left message said it wasn’t working. Didn’t hear back. Called another company, he defrosted it with dryer, said it needed a part, part would cost $100 and he had to order it and it would take a week to get it. Came back, put part in said it should be fine. Next morning, icemaker still not working, leaking allover the floor. Call whirlpool, several places no help. Looked up litigations against whirlpool, could’t believe how many there were. Had a list of model numbers that they listed that would qualify. Naturally, mine wasn’t list. Left an email and extensive not with serial/model numbers, got answer back stated couldn’t help me because my number wasn’t listed. Well icemaker still not working and leaking. Spent over $400?on two servicemen. Not wasting anymore money. I will never purchase another whirlpool product, pardon my french this sucks!!!!!🥺😜...See MoreStainless steel oven left with white spots after kitchen renovation
Comments (5)We just tried of house cleaner and now our stainless steel Samsung stovetop has the same looking white spots. It's almost like it burnt the surface a little bit or etched it somehow. Some kind of a chemical reaction. She didn't use any chemicals that were not safe just stainless steel polish. She didn't know how it happened and we don't either. I tried lemon juice so far. And only let it sit about 20 seconds. But nothing is making it move at all. You can barely feel it on one of them the rest you can't fill it at all. It almost feels like it's not there. I tried to scratch my fingernail won't budge at all. Tried a little sponge eraser thing those white things my wife uses a little bit of abrasive It didn't do anything. It definitely looks like some kind of a chemical reaction maybe two different types of cleaning solutions that were safe? We didn't use any heat anyway trying to figure it out so my cleaner doesn't have to buy me a new stove top....See Moreplllog
