By controlling where the sitter is looking, you define the space. Put a sofa parallel to the TV wall, facing the TV, with a sofa table or low bookcase backed up to it to define the TV area. Define the fireplace chat area with a rug. A pair of loveseats, or a loveseat and two chairs, one slightly angled with its back to the doors and the other (or pair of chairs) matching with a nice couple of chairside tables would define the fireplace part. People sitting here should be facing each other, at a comfortable conversation distance. There will be the blank corners outside the fireplace conversation area. Good for a potted plant, maybe a small writing table in front of a window looking out ... a solitary activity. Maybe a bookcase And If you are having a big get-tpgether, just turn the sofa around so it's part of the conversation area.

I'd have the TV on the small wall next to the fireplace so it doesn't have to be mounted so high. I'd run a 9' by 12' (or larger if space permits) length wise in front of the window. At the end farthest away from the TV, I'd put a sofa. I'd put two comfortable chairs facing the window. Or an L shape sectional in front of the window and two comfortable chairs facing the window. I'd put a large dining table in the area near the island and bar stools at the island. These Tibetian barstools are very comforable, easy to move and don't take up much space.

Hey everyone! It’s been a while since I posted updates and to be honest there isn’t too much to report at the moment! Trying to figure out where to put ducts for central air. I’m attaching some photos I thought you might like :) the first is what the beams look like inside the walls and what I’m hoping the ones exposed will look like when they stain is rubbed out. The second pic is the original flooring upstairs (dusty from construction). It’s called pumpkin pine flooring and that’s the flooring I want to put on the ground level kitchen and sitting room. Then a picture from the notching looking at the stone room, and vice versa! Hope everyone is healthy and safe ❤️

Judianna20,  What a nice assumption you've made of someone you clearly don't know at all. I won't be as snarky as you to think ill of someone else's intentions. I might have the PRO distinction on my name but I am not looking for any customers or clients. Believe it or not, some of us enjoy helping and giving advice and have a passion for interior design, beyond the call of money. I have been a frequent Houzzer of many , many years before I became a PRO, so I am aware there are very rude people on here, but I didn't think anyone would stoop so low to judge my words and assume I am begging for clients. I am currently not taking clients and only here to help others, which is common for many Professionals on Houzz. Did you have any advice or suggestions to give OP? Or did you only intend on gatekeeping this thread out of your wrong assumptions that I'm looking for clients? If so perhaps you should give some advice to OP or report my comment if you feel so slighted.  It is unfortunate this forum is for home advice but some people like to gatekeep. Sorry OP, if you're still even there, but I still stand by what I said, if you want help please let me know. I promise I won't ask for a dime from you, those aren't my intentions.
