Comments (9)Shane-it is 'to each their own'.There are some wonderful people in the forum and I really enjoyed their company and input. I am sure the forum would have been a great success if it had been started by anyone other than the present owner. If you are a male you will probably be okay-blatant misogyny means women are tolerated only to a certain degree. The above statements are my opinion only-take it as you find it. I had all my rose scans in the database there but withdrew them in protest at what I considered an underhanded nasty act by the webmaster. The webmaster then banned me. I had the option of returning if I was a good little girl but I declined. I have records of what transpired but will not make them public. regards sandie...See MoreSome roses and perennials today in Alberta, Canada
Comments (21)vaporvac: My Radio Times is A WIDE & HUGE bush, needs room. HMF has a few bush-shots of Zaide, much healthier than Radio Times, but Radio Times beat Zaide in perfection of bloom & fantastic damask scent. Both are thorny. Below is the list of top 115 most healthy roses compiled by New York Botanical Garden. Zaide and Viking Queen are on the list, same with Buck Quietness and Heritage: http://www.nybg.org/gardens/rose-garden-top-performers-2010.php Question for everyone: I'm getting tired of thorns, it's actually the dense-prickles that get to me. I don't mind widely-spaced thorns like Sonia Rykiel, Frederic Mistral, or Crown Princess Mag ... it's the dense-prickles that I mind. Which one of your roses have the least thorns or widely spaced thorns? Thanks. Also what are your best-bush-beauty roses? My vote go to Marie Pavie & Daly as best-bush beauty, same with Perle'd Or & Clouide Soupert & Pat Austin & Tchaikosky & Bolero & Evelyn and anything with glossy & shiny foliage and continuous blooms....See MoreMore pictures from the Portland Rose Garden
Comments (9)Those are so tiny SI. Wow, I would never guess them as roses smaller than your finger nails. Well, I recognize a few on your first link. Think the 8,9 and 18 is Pat Austin. And when it fades it is 12 and 13. I am very sure it is Pat Austin rose. Thanks for the threads. Wish I know some of the names of roses that caught my eye :) Jin...See MoreOur wish comes true, more European roses from NIRP through Palatine!
Comments (168)I am speechless… What an amazing thread! Thank you, Helen! and Everyone for your lovely photos & comments on NYRP roses. I tried perusing most of it this evening! I am new to NIRP roses but after seeing a few weeks ago Helen’s roses I choose a few for my spring list from Palatine. Also, I have been eyeing a few of them from your garden photos on other threads. I am so excited to order in Dec.: 1. Rosemantic Pink 2. Rosaraie du Chatelet 3. Maybe Rosemantic Fushia/ or Kordes-Dark Desire Parfuma (Can’t decide.) Rosemantic Cream & Anastasia are gorgeous-love them, too! @Ceres , Love your Forever Rose, do you know if it is BS resistant. @Amanda Dickerson, I see you have BS, too, looking for resistant roses. Me, too. After reading your experoence w/BS on NIRP roses I am concerned, but wish to try a few. However, I have had great success w/Kordes roses & Meilland roses not getting BS-the most resistant in my garden. I have Polar Express, , Earth Angel, Summer Romance, Beverly, Wedding Bells, Madame Anisette, Pomponella , Cinderella, Lions Fairy, & more Kordes doing well-almost no BS. I have Francis Meilland, Princess Charlene de Monaco, Ives Piaget, Cream Ives Piaget (Classic Woman) Meillands-almost no BS. Almost any rose can get BS if sitting in water-with way too much rain this year, but many had zero BS anyway. They are the best BS resistant roses I have out of a hundred roses almost. I have others if you need a longer BS resistant list. Savanna is BS resistant-zero BS! Carol, Thanks for pointing out this thread. I am so busy…I am missing these anazing threads! @kathyc_z10 Kathy, Thank you for your photos of Roseraie Du Chatelet -what a magnificent rose-love its name-it’s color is beautiful & excited about its vigorous growth! NIRP ROSES are so lushious! THANK YOU, everyone! again for your comments & photos on NIRP International roses & website. What a wonderful company of superb roses! Can’t wait to put in my first order for them!...See Morerosecanadian
