Summerfield, I'm stumped! Do you mind taking a look?
Comments (14)I'm sorry I haven't been on here in a while. We've had some work things going on for the worse. Thankfully, I'm OK but some of my friends did not fare well. It's been crazy the past couple of weeks. I've looked at your plans and love what you've done. The one issue I do have though is that the plan takes up the whole back yard as it is b/c of the sliding over of the carport/garage. We had originally done the garage that way so we would be able to have a yard/pool and a view into the back yard as well. So that would probably change a whole lot for this plan. I like the front! Forgive me for asking (I haven't been that active on this particular forum since we're so new at this) but do you do this as a hobby or a side job? You're very very good! Re: the two desks. We don't really need two desks in the office. DH and I both have laptops and the kids will either use them or end up with laptops too. We will probably have one desk and cabinetry on the other side. Our kids could not possibly do homework at the same time in the same confined space! LOL! So given that information about the backyard, that's going to change having that master sticking out in the back, huh?...See MoreChosing interior colors and I'm stumped
Comments (9)It can be very frustrating to pick out paint colors without having something to go off of-an overall color scheme or inspiration piece -an area rug, fabric or art piece. So when we are faced with doing it for a whole house when we may or may not be using our old things it can be very tough. I commend you for getting so far with your choices and being happy with them! Sometimes the 'problem' with and individual choice is not just a legititmate 'will it work?' but the fear of commitment as well. In concept our choices are great but in reality we are committed once we actually start painting. Without actually seeing all of the colors, knowing the lighting and the flow of the floorplan I can't comment on the actual colors, so... What I would encourage you to do is stick with all the colors you really feel work, paint those areas first and then tackle the guest bath. Paint is one of the easiest things to fix, especially in a relatively small space like a bathroom. Then you can experiment with the colors you would like in in the guest bath. Often a color that is not a 'dead on' match will be more interesting than one that matches exactly with your fabric. Once the colors you like are up you will have a more realistic feel for the intensity and hue you need in the guest bath. Your toile is lovely and it would be a shame not to make use of it! Good Luck!...See MoreBathroom decor - I'm stumped!
Comments (99)Before you pay $35 plus a gal and get it home and you not like it..why not see if BM sells the jar of sample paint in your chosen color? $4 for a sample if it is available could save you not only money but a lot of frustration and stress. We have learned to do that first. Putting the small cardboard sample chart on the wall doesn't do it for me so my very clever former Duron paint mgr. suggest we buy white poster board and buy sample or qt. size and paint that poster board the chosen color and use the paint tape to hang it on your wall where you can look at it for a few days before definately deciding if it is the right color you want to live with for a few years. That blue paint tape will not damage your wall or leave the residue that scotch tape will do. I came upon a website by accident on yesterday and although it was not on BM website, it showed a list of the most used BM paint colors and what rooms they were used in. I bookmarked it for future reference. There are other paint companies that are selling the sample paints, which is a super idea in my opinion. Less costly trial and error method!...See Morestumped on foyer stairwell color
Comments (14)Yes! Some folks on that thread were insisting that the wallpaper I chose looked great in the book because it was pictured with “ glazed wainscoting “. Nothing I could say would convince them otherwise ( that it was just shadowing). Im very happy with my Pure white unglazed wainscoting and love it with the paper although ......it can appear to have a light grey cast at times depending on the time of day. You’re not alone thinking the rectangular mirror is too dinky. It’s not moving though, I adore it !! A row of pics are going on the opposite wall. I’ll check out the 1/2 str Edgecomb- greys are such a challenge!...See MoreUser
