Comments (2)You should spread the boxes out as much as possible in the area that it will be installed. Best to raise them off the floor an inch or so. 3 to 5 days should be plenty of time depending of course on what condition they were brought to you. Comments (1)Treat the floor as you would any other exterior wood surface. You could use something like deck stain or porch paint. If you want more protection you'll need something like a plastic pad. Comments (11)My former boss built quite an upscale home (for this area, anyway) with hand scraped very dark wood floors in the kitchen. You could see every. tiny. speck. and. footprint. When I was there during a reception or tea party that his wife was fond of having, I thought the floor always looked soooo dirty.
