Walk-about before/during rain.

My worms in the smaller bins have been
VERY restless these past 2 nights because of the rain we were having. This
happens almost every time after a long dry spell that they would crawl up the walls and cuddle
together in big clumps when it started to rain. My big FT bins are OK, the worms in the RubberMaid and smaller were
climbing the walls. I got a couple of 7 gal. pails where the lids just sit on
top and worms escaped and dried up on the floor. Even if I've thought about it
and checked in the morning, it would have been too late.
Gone to worm heaven. Is it the barometer? Or instinct, smelling rain and the urge to go for a walk? But I didn't think worms have noses, so proly tingling of the skin? BTW, these are established bins, running between 2 yrs. and 6 mths.

Anybody with similar experience?
