Starting on week four of demo in the 3 rooms-What a mess

So cabinets came yesterday and I opened one box and ABSOLUTELY LOVE THEM

THey won't be ready to be installed for awhile but I am SO HAPPY that I ordered them

Any more pictures? I’m worried that this is a very dark color. Baltic is another neutral brown from Kraftmaid. I wish they had something in between canon and baltic.

maybe canon grey on maple would help lighten it up some. It’s almost black or espresso in some of these photos above.

sucks because most of kraftmaids browns are very warm toned.

Nash Stanton, my cabinets are cannon gray on maple. I chose the maple because it seemed the lightest choice. I agree it’s pretty dark but I don’t think mine look black or espresso. They are more of a dark gray with a little brown coming through. I did choose lighter countertops and white perimeter cabinets so the brown wouldn’t come through as much.

If you wanted a safer color from Kraftmaid that is in the same color profile, I would recommend Molasses. Do not get Canon Grey without going to the store and bringing it home to look at it under your lighting!

Helpful hint- order your cabinet hardware from D Lawless. Great prices and quality. We offered our installer cash to put them on.

Opinions are like....well, you know what....but I despise that hardware so much (though, I bet you could order something differently from your source). I call it "snake handles", and I expect it to look absolutely horrendous in a few more years (if not already). But please, remember that it's my opinion. One of my cabinet places has cabinets with those, and it looks like little snakes are crawling everywhere.

Canon Grey on rustic alder is a very dark brown. We thought Baltic was too green and a touch too light. We thought Molasses was the safest choice, but it wasn't like super awesome/modern or anything, just "safe."

Definitely make sure by taking the sample home! HU, those cabinets in the daytime are very dark brown like your picture show (pretty much like expresso). No doubt at sunset or evening those things WILL turn black!

Love the countertops btw. We are going something very similar.

We gave up on Kraftmaid and went with DuraSupreme. I think DuraSupreme has much better color options and are not limited to stock sizes. Your kitchen looks great!

I’m glad you found something you like. As a reference we have had espresso and darker. The canon gray is not nearly as dark. I’m sure your kitchen will be beautiful.
The recommendation for D Lawless was only meant to let people know there is a great quality product for far less money. They were recommended by a contractor that built a previous home for us.

Nash did you do kitchen in maple molasses? I see a yellow/green undertone in the sample. I was wondering if yours has same? Do you have a photo??

We ultimately left Kraftmaid. Their colors are either a) too traditional, or b) have weird undertones as you've been noticing. We're super happy with the color from Durasupreme.

I L.O.V.E my Kraftmaid Cannon Gray cabinets.   The color is amazing.   Not too chocolate with just a hint of gray under tone, in my opinion....

HU-458910510 we actually got new flooring.

My cabinets in Cannon grey faded very bad from the sun in less than 4 years old. Kraftmaid has blamed us for having a window in the kitchen. Our window is above the sink, not a large sliding glass door. I regret the day I bought Kraftmaid Cannon Grey. Now I have a $25,000.00 small kichen that looks like crap. I LOVE the color and the cabinets. I just wish the company was better. Multiple problems when installed and needed replacement cabinet doors at installation. Stain was not matching and was returned by the installer from Homedepot. Now they are fading out at an alarming rate. So, if you love Cannon Grey as I do, do not purchase if you have any window in your kichen or have blackout curtians up and keep them closed at all times.

Have you tried contacting KraftMaid directly? Perhaps they may help since you feel Home Depot won’t. We bought ours from a local company. They have been wonderful in helping us get replacements for color and a few doors that warped. We live in Arizona therefore there’s lot of sun. Regardless of windows, our company got us new/ replacements each time. We’ve had them about 5 years. Good luck, I’m so sorry for your frustration.

Here is Cannon Grey on quartersawn oak next to translucent monument grey. It is pretty dark.
