If you have marble tile, good luck. You are very limited on what you could use. If you have ceramic, you could use almost anything. You could probably use CLR (check your local grocer). You could also use vinegar and water (3 parts vinegar). Once cleaned, the best way to keep on top of it so it doesn't get out of hand is to use a squeegee after each shower to get the water off and then keep the door open for at least a half hour with the bath fan running. This will also help keep mold and mildew out of your shower. The squeegee takes 2 minutes or less. How did I convince my husband to do this? By reminding him that our shower glass was $3600 and if it got ruined, I'd be replacing it!!!

I don't have glass doors in my bathroom but I still use a squeegee on the tub surround. That can get soap scum too, which you may not notice right away, until it has built up enough so that its hard to remove. A squeegee is quick, no good excuse not to do it.. Marilyn had the right idea reminding her husband about it - I told mine that I'd have to hire a housekeeper to clean the bathrooms if he didn't use it. Money talks, as they say..........

I found this DIY cleaner on here and here and it is fantastic because it works!

Here's the recipe:

8 oz. (1 cup) of warm vinegar

8 oz. ( 1 cup) of Dawn

That's it! I put the vinegar in the microwave for about two minutes to
get it warm. Then mix the vinegar and the Dawn in a spray bottle. One
cup of Dawn seems like a lot to me, but I guess you need that much to
cut through the scum. It makes sense. If it can cut through grease and
baked on food, it should be able to cut through yucky shower scum!

I sprayed the Dawn and vinegar mixture on the glass and scrubbed with a
sponge. I really didn't have to scrub hard or for very long. That
stubborn stuff came right off! I had a bucket of clean water to wipe
off the soap suds. When I was done, there still seamed to be a little
bit of residue on the glass so I just used the glass cleaner I usually
use to give the doors a final wipe. Now my shower doors look as good as
new!

I spray vinegar on the door, let it sit, then dab a sponge with generous amount of baking soda and scrub. It's time consuming if you haven't cleaned the doors in a while but if you do it regularly (once a month) then it is very easy and quick. If your soap scum is very stuck on, use JoAnnFl's dawn plus vinegar mixture to spray on the door before you scrub with baking soda. It works really well.

I use Magic eraser on my tile, tub and fixtures. Works very well.
