Pictures would help. From what it sounds like, it should do fine. If its an aloe or aeonium, the leaves will not root. If the leaf is whole it has a better chance of rooting than a half-leaf. Usually it would take about a week to show signs of rooting. Again, pictures would really help.

They should be fine, the conditions they are in now are perfect for roots to form

i have read everywhere that taking care of succulents is so easy and anyone can do it, but i discovered that its not easy, succulents seem to be very sensitive.... i have had various house plants for the past 5 years and they are doing great, never worried about them.... but with the succulents that I just got a month ago I am having trouble with them, they get effected pretty easily with either too much or too little water or sun... and now that i have repotted my succulents I am having even more trouble... I hope to get the hang of it.

As I think garrett implied, you don't have to put them in soil. Just leave them where they are, and roots will form when they are ready to form..

Also, those leaves look in perfect condition for rooting- plenty calloused to me. I don't think you need to wait for a callous on leaves, but it is more important if you are cleaning out rot, or rooting a whole stem.

I hear ya! I'm three months into growing multiple C&S and I'm still adjusting to their care. I've owned "regular" houseplants all my life and never before have I been such a fussy plant mama.

Put the leaves somewhere and forget about them for a week. the watched pot, and all :) I find that some leaves will just die and never take root, regardless of what I do.

i have some on soil, some on grit, some on perlite; all laying in various shallow dishes. I've seen pictures from users here that have had roots on leaves that fell behind their potting table, even LOL

Looks like you have already received some great advice. And yes, growing succulents are not nearly as easy as "they" would like you to believe. I do not know who started this myth. I saw some for sale in costco recently and the label said they required "partial shade to bight light - they can grow anywhere!" and I was so irritated. I wanted to scratch that out and write "require bight light to full sun - otherwise will rot and die" but I didn't think Costco would like that.

Anyways, you are on the right path. Connecting with this community you will learn so much and the succulent addiction will take over soon enough!

Some may never root if you didn't get the whole leaf off the stem ... Yours above look like you *did* get the whole leaf, except maybe one of them looks a bit torn at the base.

I repotted my Echeveria Lilacina and took off the bottom leaves to try propagating. They are all turning flat and hard and brown :( it seems to be one of my fussier plants.

Have you put yours on soil yet?

Don't bother spraying the soil with water until they start rooting, to be honest, they don't even need to be on soil until there are roots. This will take weeks. Some leafs don't make it, they have some kind of problem and they will just dry out, or they won't grow roots, or they will only grow roots. Propagating is not always a 100% success. Just gotta wait it out.

Plants are on plant time, and with succulents, the more you pay attention to them the worse they do.

No, I'd say bright shade pls. not direct sun, & I wouldn't mist them either. What they need most pls. is just to be left alone & given TIME.
