Just before listing - ceiling fan light quit working

I called Hunter because it has a warranty. Nope, says Hunter, not when the fan has been discontinued and that part is no longer made. They offered me a discount on a new one. That's great, except I don't WANT to install a new fan right now. Grrr.

What should we do? Put in a new fan, or just a new light? We never use the fan or the light in that room. There are boob lights in each corner of the room now, and dh doesn't like air blowing on him when he's watching tv. So the only time this thing is ever on is when we have a power outage and the light comes on when the power comes back on. Stupid remote control.

BTW, this is Texas. Hot, humid summers. Ceiling fans in every room usually.
