Need opinions on my upcoming order
Comments (2)Just wondering if you know that most "pink" daylilies are really a peach-toned flower. The first daylilies I bought were described as pinks (weren't in bloom) that to my complete dismay were an ugly (IMHO) muddy terra-cotta color that I really disliked. If you are able to visit a local daylily farm, you will get a realistic view of the flowers and how the colors really are in real life. Photos on the web & in catalogs and descriptions can be extremely misleading....See MoreGranite Selection Help - Opinions Wanted
Comments (12)Unfortunately, they can't template without the sink, so I need to choose it before we finalize granite. In addition, the sink can take several weeks if it's not in stock, so I don't want to wait and then have cabinets and no counters for 3-4 weeks. They told me the second one was called Sea Pearl, but when I google images of that, I am sure that is not correct. It's going to be a transitional kitchen. We purchased white shaker cabinets (Kemper - White - arriving tomorrow!) and Provincial floors. I've been toyed with Fireclay tile in the Paseo shape for the backsplash, but I really don't think that will work so well with the second granite. Other than a wood dining room table and an oak sideboard, everything else will be new. The fire place surround is traverine, but I think it's far and neutral enough to be irrelevant. Here's the empty space. The floors now match the section to the right side of the picture. Here's the plan, but it's probably too small to be useful. From the inspiration pictures, you can see that the first slab is the clear choice. I think my trouble is that I don't know what I would do with the second slab. I don't see it in my mind's eye. I don't know how I would finish it. Comments (15)Kayl - There is no wrong answer to this question, but I will share what I am thinking. When I see them all side by side, the uba tuba goes to the bottom of my list because it seems so gold against the others and the dark on goes to the top because it stands out in contrast to the others. But - I don't think you should pick out in contrast to each other but in terms of what each one plays with the rest of the kitchen. I think you can make the best judgment when you look at each independently. So while covering each up and looking at them one at a time, I am focusing on the Labrador green because on my monitor it has a gray undertone that looks lovely with the floors (which I know you were concerned about.) The Uba reads gold and the dark one makes the grout of the floor stand out to me, not the tile itself. So (1) Labrador (2) Uba (3) Dark Labrador - but honestly I think they would all work. Because of these subtle difference try to bring your cabinet and a sample of your tile (or a paint chip that matches your tile), and a paint chip of your walls to the fabricator to pick out your actual slab to be sure you are getting what you are looking for (or maybe even something better than the samples.)...See MoreQuestioning Avon Order My Friend Got. Need Opinions(long post)
Comments (25)Avon does not work like this. Please have your friend contact them, and the state Attorney General ASAP. Also here in ND, the media will release warnings regarding scams. Avon will not release names and addresses. I am so glad she did not get caught. Since I do not have a reg. rep. I buy from our local flea market, but even there I am careful, as some of the reps are selling out of date products. Just for a note, a rep buys directly from Avon and can sell the product for any price the want to, unless this policy has changed....See Morenumbersjunkie
