well ... hmmmm .... you are on the right track ... but working on the wrong variables ... i am going to come at it from another angle ... hosta are VERY HEAVY WATER USERS ... and they use the most water.. in the most heat .. which is why they struggle in the deep south ... they simply cant pump enough water to offset the loss ... and part of that is ... night temps.. they can cope better up here in MI because at night it cools considerably ... hosta actually sweat ... transpire ... in england.. which is above the 60th parallel.. or 2/3 of the way to the north pole.. they are ALL FULL SUN ... partly because the sun barely shines.. lol .. but also because of the declination of the sun.. the British are a pasty peeps.. because the sun is not as strong.. so the hosta can cope ... compare that to LA.. and you can see a stark difference. .. so.. hosta can grow in full sun .. hosta are only shade tolerant.. but the sun .. or conversely.. the shade is not really the issue.... its all about how effectively they can pump.. enough water. and if they have a recovery period to cope ... the fact that a hosta looks ratty in late summer.. is more a function of not enough water.. rather than too much light ... ken ps: zone.. which is.. in its simplest form.. MINIMUM WINTER TEMP ... has nothing to do with it .... pps: i have tons of wood hyacinths.. i dont know why you failed with those.. unless there are multiple plants under that common name ... ppps: hosta also have a requisite dormancy period.. and if you go too far south.. they dont get it ...

You can also use Google SketchUp. When you have a document, you can set a location, date, and time and it will show you the shadow. You may not have to do a full model; a simple cube the rough dimensions of your building might work. The steps would be to create a square the same footprint of your building and then use the "Pull" tool (looks like a box with an arrow coming out the top) to set the height. Then, "Select All" and choose the "Rotate" tool (looks like two arrows in a circle). Click the top face and rotate the cube to match the orientation of you building in real life. Once that is done, in Tools -> Model Info, set the latitude and longitude of your location. Then use Window -> Shadows to enable shadows and set the time / date. Hope this helps.

I use Goodreads to keep track of what I have read, and there is a Goodreads app-the scanner function doesn't seem to like the clear covers that libraries use, but I have successfully scanned the barcodes on my own books. Guess it depends on the version of phone you have. I don't see why Goodreads wouldn't work for you to catalog a collection as well-you can organize it according to genre on "shelves" which I like a lot.

I've looked into apps for time tracking, time management, project management, and so on, and the options are overwhelming. I look up online reviews that compare various apps (and what you don't like about Toggl could be a strength of another app). I make sure the review is within the last 6 mo. to 1 year, since apps change, merge and flop, and new ones come to the market frequently. I recently looked into mileage apps for business, and I ended up downloading 2 that were rated well by PCMag or somesuch, and used both for a while to see which one I liked. I know I'm not much help... I've just been around the block with small business apps and have had really mixed reviews with many of them.
