Does yield for indeterminate tomatoes drop off at a certain point?

Wondering if tomatoes, (even indeterminates), have an end or peak production point? I've always understood that indeterminates would live perpetually until something killed the plant off (and assumed that the fruit production would also continue all things considered)

I saw a recent video with a market gardener who discussed having two different plantings of Sungold plants (one for when the first was done) but he didn't cover why an indeterminate would stop producing or need to be replaced.

I also have sungold this year and it looks like they are slowing down without any serious apparent issues affecting the plant.

Am I learning something new or do I just have some tired plants that need to be fed?
