HERE is the thread that shows the machine. Not sure if it would work on a seam with a sink cut-out on it, though.

It's called a seam setter. I'm not sure that it can be used in front of the sink, but I think Joseph once said that they have seam setters for the small strips in front of sinks now. It was not used for the cut out behind my cooktop.

I wouldn't want a seam on an island either. Even though I have an excellent seam, I can still see it. It's a hair's width. They use epoxy.

Cesarstone Organic White is available in Jumbos, but you're right at the end on length, you're both at 128". Maybe be ready to change your edge profile or lessen your overhang just in case.

The edges to be seamed have to be machined on a CNC or a Seam Phantom machine, bonded with color matched methacrylate adhesive (Integra Perfect White 3172), and pulled together with Gorilla Grips for the most inconspicuous seam. It's not going to disappear.

I am getting the counters thru the KD and asked about a jumbo slab. He said he checked with his fabricator and the supplier doesn't have any right now and it will take a long time to get them in. I asked him what is "a long" time and am waiting to hear back. I also contacted another stone place my friend is using and asked them to check availability Just to see if I am getting handed a line.

It's good to be skeptical. Your fabricator may have a 1/2 sheet of Organic White left over from another job. The only way he can turn that into cash is by selling it to you. If you buy a jumbo, his profits are still sitting in the rack.

Joe is right... Fabricators want to use all their remnant pieces before having to buy new slabs...

You're picking a white counter with not much going on. I would look at other brands (because we all know they make a similar white countertop) and maybe you'll find a jumbo one that's in stock. I would consider a different brand before a big seam.

That was not the case when I purchased Caesarstone from my fabricator. You pay for a slab, you get a new slab. Leftovers are put in the remnant area for other customers to purchase.

mayflowers - "You pay for a slab, you get a new slab." That's what I thought too. When I put granite in my kitchen I got to pick out two slabs from the stone yard.

Fast forward. When Cambria quoted me white quartz for my master bathroom ($1600) I asked about remnants and was told they don't have remnants because the fabricators just keep reusing the left over pieces since they are manmade and match (we know that isn't always true). It's possible Caesarstone could be reusing pieces just like Cambria. I ended up going with a Hanstone remnant and saved $600.

I'm wondering if the OP got to see the slabs in person and pick them out.

I'd bet you're paying more with the convenience of going through the KD. He's adding his fee on top of the actual cost. It's normal business practice of course. I would choose to go direct, if it's an option AND it saves me money.

We used remnants of a white Caesarstone (specific color escapes me) for perimeter counters. Required two seams--they were terrible. I swear it started to yellow in just a few months time. Could have been poor installation, but I'd avoid having a seam if at all possible.

Nope. Too much catalyst in the adhesive. Gotta mix it in a bag instead of a tip and it takes longer to kick. That's why installers don't do it. It won't yellow until after their employer's check has cleared.

I checked another place and Ceasarstone Organic White jumbo slabs are on back order. The lady even called and they won't even give a ship date. My options now are to get OW and have a seam, choose another Quartz, or wait for the jumbo slabs to be available who know when. My KD should have told me this six weeks ago when he had his fabricator order the material and not just try to do a seam without telling me. I am going to look at more Quartz today, does anyone know of something similar to Ceasaestone OW?
