Cattleya leaf tips turning brown/yellow? Help please
Comments (2)Most frequently this is cosmetic damage from overdosing with fertilizer. Give the tips time to thoroughly dry and then carefully clip close to healthy growth with sterile cutters, being sure you don't cut into firm flesh. If the tips do not just dry, you have another problem....See MoreSapodilla brown leaf curling?? Please Help
Comments (1)I bought it from logees in august because I wanted sias woods and could not find it anywhere else. It arrive very healthy with a fruit on it. I cut the fruit off. The root system was small and arrived in a tiny pot so I potted up after a week. The plant did great. I only periodically watered it during winter and have slowly started bringing on more water and taking it outside when its warm. My Sapodilla has been transferred to a 2.5 gal into gritty mix from a one gallon in a failed 5-1-1 (bark way to fine) 1 week ago. I switched to gritty mix because my 5-1-1 was not drainging properly and a few plants were suffering. The gritty mix gets watered every day because I dont think I soaked the bark long enough so its drying a little to fast. When I repotted I was amazed at how small and undeveloped the roots are. Is there any way to help them establish and grow? The leaves have some small brown paches and are curling its started at the base and worked its way up. Please can anyone help me? I have not fertilized yet....See MoreHoya leaf help please? Brown spots, some leaf damage.
Comments (19)Pls say what it means: "was a difficult plant for me to acquire"? Did you ask the Supplier for a refund? It's pretty appropriate. In 20 yrs. of growing Hoyas, I've never seen this & STRONGLY suggest you get rid of it. Your comment: "you won’t hang on to it forever" is irrelevant as contagion from an infected plant can be quick; it needs no time at all. Sorry....See MoreQuick help!! Spreading yellow/brown edges on Anthurium :( blight?
Comments (2)@ken_adrian Adrian MI cold Z5 hey Ken, thank you for your input, very encouraging! :) only root ball was wrapped in spagnum, but the leaves were wrapped with plain paper against cardboard (similar to a card in an envelope, I guess to prevent breakage?) the leaves were damp when unwrapped... there are 4 leaves total which look pretty much identical to the one in the pic, but this is the base of the plant. The plant came to me with some little red growth shoots at the base, and today i realised one is popping out a TINY leaf!!! you cant rly see here in the pic though but if this helps: I have a question though - the root ball was pretty big/thick/healthy (~10cm diameter)...so would you say I should water it more often? considering it's in hot conditions + terracotta & well draining mix...since watering 2 days ago, I checked with the moisture meter today and it's already down to 2/10 again! perhaps coz it's pushing out a new leaf?...See Morejabubaoski
